As far as I can see, nothing much has changed with my EDF account since  before Xmas...
... No sign of the credit from Zog altho that statement was produced nearly 3 weeks ago.
    As per the EDF website:

    Update 20 January 2022

Good news! Zog Energy Limited has informed us that they've completed issuing final bills to all Zog customers up to the SoLR date of 3 December 2021.

We're now working with Zog to understand which customers have credit on their final balance so we can honour this. Here is how you'll get your credit.

    • Customers who've stayed with us, your credit will be applied to your new EDF account. Don't worry if you can't see this yet, it will take some time

    • Any customers who left Zog and signed up to another supplier these credits will be sent as a cheque.
Please bear with us, these will take some time to work through.

We'll then make sure that you are billed from 4 December 2021 onwards.

    Edit:
    If you go to

you should see a history of what has happened when, and what is due to happen regarding your account :)

5 mins in webchat with EDF and the conclusion is "their website tells you fibs".
    When it says this:
    What it really means is:
    • Your bill to that date will be issued up to 2 working days after that date
    • Payment will be taken up to 14 days after the bill date
So my bill for 15th Dec to 22nd of Jan will be available to me today or tomorrow, and the payment for the 24th of Jan will be taken by the 7th of Feb.

I got an email from Zog today asking me to settle my final bill and giving me their account details to do so.

    Should I be paying this?

I waited up until EDF told me to cancel the DD with Zog, so they should have had plenty of time to collect payment.

I asked the same, upthread, but got no opinion as to what to do. Thanks for reminding me, though. As it's only about a tenner, in my case, I'm now thinking I'll pay it to Zog and then if EDF charge me for the same gas I'll demand compo!

If the bill is correct then of course you should pay it.

But how will you know its correct since (as far as I'm aware) EDF haven't issued their first bills so there is no apparent agreement on opening /closing reads. There is a substantial difference between the closing read on my Zog account and the first read shown on the EDF account.

Mine has been like this since 5 Jan, when I left them to move over to EON Next.

I assume it means that we do not have a clue when we will produce your final bill, but we will eventually get around to doing it.  This also includes deciding whether to bill me for 5.12 - 14.12.

If you were a customer of EDF - that is, EDF set up your account from the 15th December and you then initiated a transfer of supply - then I would have thought that EDF is obliged to raise a Final Bill within the required 6 week period from the date that the supply was transferred away from them. That said, there is an argument that the period from the 4th to 15th December is not subject to this requirement given that administrators are involved.

No bill yet but was about to set up DD  - (what is the cut off date for this to avoid increased charge for  paying or can we wait for a bill?)
Was about to set up DD it showed the 2 main options eg fixed month amount or variable pay on actual bill
but  when I started the process it only offered me fixed DD.
Can I set it up online and then change it  or  set up variable from start via which contact method?

You can set it up as a fixed DD on-line and then use the chat facility to ask them to change it to "Direct Debit whole amount monthly".
Once they have done that, you need to provide a meter reading each month (unless you have a Smart meter). If you don't, they charge you a fixed amount based on your usual usage.
