I’ve also had a welcome email and can log in to my new gas account with EDF. They won’t let me set up a D/D though, so they seem determined to charge us the higher rate. Since the account is online I fail to see why they won’t allow us to change the payment method immediately. I already have a D/D payment setup with them as they also supply my electricity so I can’t understand why they didn’t default to a D/D method.
BTW, when you do switch to D/D make sure they setup Monthly payment in full because they automatically setup a “budget” monthly D/D at a ridiculous amount (with our electric we were paying £97 per month with GNE and EDF set our D/D at £207 per month - even though we had built up a credit of £300 with GNE when they folded)2 -
I will now have Octopus for electricity, EDF for gas and Ovo for solar import and export. Will the meter readers need to queue up at my front door?I have osteoarthritis in my hands so I speak my messages into a microphone using Dragon. Some people make "typos" but I often make "speakos".0

kev2009 said:Hi all,
I have just managed to sign in to EDF too and mine also says switch in progress.
@MaDMaX** - I went to EDF home page and click My A count in top right. I then entered my email address and it says no good, and in the text it mentions if first time you need to register to setup account, I clicked that and then i entered my email and it then sent a email for me to add a password, got the email, set a password and now I'm in
Unable to change bank details, it says to contact them so I'll wait until I have details of what the DD will be etc before I do any of that and also get the welcome details. I did change my preferred contact options
Thanks for the info!
Kev

I haven't seen that email either. I shared your pain @MadMax2_2 - I too could not register without an account number. You are not stupid or alone! However, through sheer doggedness and bloodymindedness I have pinned down my customer number via Twitter DM. Hence I am now all set up online and in-app, with a forecast switch date of 15/12. Hopefully Zog are keeping their end up.2
