    It's not a very user-friendly webpage, TBH.
    • Enter your postcode
    • Ignore all the "narrow the results" boxes
    • Type "we" in the tariff name box
    • Choose "welcome variable" from the list
    • Click "get tariff information"
    • Then choose a payment method
    • Then choose the fuel and (if electric) whether E7 or std
    Does this work for you?

I tried with a Merthyr postcode - CF47 8TW, found from an estate agent's listing - and got results:
    • Unit rate - 4.174p per kWh
    • Standing charge - 26.12p per day

Nope!  Page just languidly rolls back to the top with the postcode error message.

OK, in that case the rates should be the same as on this pdf:

The prices are at the price cap level. Note that EDF said that they would not be able to carry over any direct debits, so everyone will go onto quarterly cash or cheque initially. Unlike British Gas, for example, EDF charge these customers at the higher level as permitted by the price cap rules. (British Gas charge all their SOLR customers at the direct debit price cap level irrespective of payment method.) That makes it important to set up a direct debit at the earliest opportunity.

Where are you seeing this? I know they've had trouble with some other SOLR takeovers but haven't seen any mention of this here. Rolling people onto a more expensive tariff because of a problem that sites entirely on their side seems very anti-consumer and open to a complaint to the regulator.

    On this page:

under "What should I do if I currently pay by Direct Debit?":

Unfortunately, we are unable to transfer your Direct Debit across when setting up your EDF account, which means your account will start with EDF on our cash or cheque payment method, meaning you pay on receipt of the bill.

Don’t worry, you can set up a Direct Debit with us once your switch is complete. You can do this easily via your online MyAccount or by contacting us directly. Your switch will be complete once we reach the start date noted in your welcome letter – you can also track your switch using your online account.
