Tbh my thinking when advised to 'leave the DD alone' is 'well, they would say that, wouldn't they?'. I always think the money is better in my pocket than theirs, and to a certain extent that prepayment mentality has been a contributory factor in the demise of those companies that have failed. Personal preference.1

Zog's Terms and Conditions no longer apply from today as EDF have now taken over. Paying a penalty for cancelling the DD was a part of those T&Cs.
I'm not sure who will bill customers who have a debit rather than a credit. Will it be Zog's administrators or will the debt be passed to EDF? I will owe a small amount when finally billed from 1st November.1 -
I owed about £1 to green, when they went bust the final bill was issued and I just made a payment to them0

The specific words in the email from Zog were:As a result of your cancelled Direct Debit instruction and as per our terms and conditions you may be charged a payment failure fee of £30.00 as we require this to be active on your account at all times. So the fee isn't automatic, it's only applied if a DD payment is missed. I guess I'll find out at the start of January!
...
Please note - If no response is received within 7 days, you may be charged a payment failure fee for all future missed payments.

I'm leaving my DD as is, worse case they take another payment which I should then get back as part of my credit. However, seeing as its been pretty quick to find out we are now with EDF, I'm hoping we get a email next week and hopefully get account login details and setup new DD and cancel Zog DD before 1st Jan
Do you think we will get a statement from Zog for last month or not now?

Thanks all. My DD to Zog is on the 15th of the month. I’ll wait until a few days before then to see what we get from EDF over the next few days. I had quite a bit of credit on my account with Zog so the administrators shouldn’t need anymore money from me!0
