On the other hand some transfers have happened quite quickly. The majority of us who were with Symbio, and wondered if the Administrators would ever be able to unravel their somewhat chaotic operation, are now largely sorted, and all in two months.Ultrasonic said:
I'd encourage you to not set expectations too high for how fast things will happen, to avoid disappointment.kev2009 said:Thanks all. Sounds like its pretty quick to get SoLR and first contact from new supplier. Understand it may take bit of time to get everyone's account setup, I presume the email will state when they need a meter reading by as my gas meter isn't a smart meter so will need to manually provide it and unfortunately, my last meter reading was August, I haven't given Zog readings since, they has estimated them so will likely be more than I've actually used.
Thanks

I was with Pure Planet who went out of business in mid-October and the latest info. is that my account will transfer to the SOLR (Shell) in January. E-mails with info. were sent fairly quickly though, and the DDs should be transferred from one to the other rather than new ones needing to be set up. Time will tell...0 -

But how would anyone know to even look at EDF? Obviously we here pick it up along the way but don’t they (Zog or EDF) have to make some sort of direct contact? They have email and postal address.The_Green_Hornet said:

Zog is now out of business and it’s affairs will be wound up by an Administrator. EDF will have to agree a mechanism with the Administrator for the transfer of accounts and personal data. The Avro page on the Octopus website gives a picture of how these things work.tim_p said:

Others have previously asked about our direct debits to Zog, with the recommendation that they not be cancelled.
However, under ‘What should I do if I currently pay by Direct Debit?’ at https://www.edfenergy.com/welcoming-zog-energy-customers it says:
“Unfortunately, we are unable to transfer your Direct Debit across when setting up your EDF account, which means your account will start with EDF on our cash or cheque payment method, meaning you pay on receipt of the bill.Don’t worry, you can set up a Direct Debit with us once your switch is complete.”
Would it then make sense to cancel the Zog DDs if they’re no longer required, to avoid any further payments being t
