Skip live chat, email etc with Shell, go straight to their Twitter team and send them a direct message on there. Guaranteed a much more helpful and speedier response2 -

Still (1h20m) on call BTW and now been invited to lodge a formal complaint. It's your right, as an adult, to spend as long as you want ont he phone to an energy supplier. I don't think even anyone would want to take that away from you. However if you want an easier life, you could give Twitter a try. You could even create an account and message Shell while you're waiting in their phone queue.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. I'm not stressing. I'm just amazed at the incompetency of Shell and I'd like to take this issue off my to do list! I also don't see why I should have to give my data to a third party in order to resolve the issue.
I was multitasking whilst on hold.

Masca - the people on the twitter account know what they're doing and will help you far better than those emailing or calling. Yes it may mean you need a social media account, but you'll get a much better level of service from there. You don't need to use your real name or anything when creating the account, and can set it to private. It needs no more information than what you've signed up here with. Just pop them a direct message and chat away.

as an aside I find following qualified people on twitter far more educational than the news0 -
I need to get in touch with shell. We have a meter problem which we thought was being dealt with but despite several promises from them to call back etc, nothing has happened.
As a dinosaur who doesn’t have face book or follow any social media (including the news) I wouldn’t know where to start with a Twitter account, I don’t actually know what it is!
it does seem difficult that this is what you have to do now to communicate successfully with companies.0 -
