Can someone please help me

Ofgem have said I am to transfer to Shell Energy

Shell Energy refuse to tell me what rates I will be on

Shell Energy say on their phone system that they have simplified things by having just 2 rates, called Fixed and Variable but they refuse to give me the rates

Shell Energy say I will be on a 3rd Tariff called "Flexible" they say the rates depend on my account, so it seems that I am being discriminated against.

Shell Energy do not published rates on their website and the get a quote seems to have been disabled.

I have lost hundreds when two energy suppliers went bust in quick succession, all despite the promises of OFGEM

SO can anyone tell me (roughly) the rates they are paying with Shell Energy on one of these Fixed and Variable Tariffs, I realise that they may stitch up Green Customers, just need to work out by how much

I tried price comparison sites but none of these have these simplified new tariffs

Shell Energy seem to be under STRICT instructions to read script and not deviate.

I am thinking of switching now to avoid the loss

Thanks in Advance

    Don't Panic.
You haven't lost a penny, your credit balances will be refunded to you.
The new Shell tariff will comply with the Ofgem price cap and won't have an exit fee.
Shell haven't published their rates yet but likely tariffs for DD customers are in this table:
    Price-Cap-Inc-VAT
    N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 33MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.
Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.
Ofgem cap table, Ofgem cap explainer. Economy 7 cap explainer. Gas vs E7 vs peak elec heating costs, Best kettle!

Thanks but I was told that last time but my credit was lost

Thanks but those numbers are also meaningless

If anyone has the two simplifed Fixed and variable rates of Shell Energy  I would be grateful
  • But you will be on a different tarrif, every new person to a company now won’t get the rates of people that joined before all this debacle. I could tell you my rates but I fixed way before this, it’s not them shafting you it’s them charging appropriate rared
for now in fact your protected by the cap, which is less than wholesale. Yes you will be paying more, you took a gamble going to another small supplier and it’s hasn’t worked out but you have saved with the time you have been with them. It won’t be allowed over the cap, unless there’s a huge turnaround with Ofgem ruling. Why did you lose your credit last time it should be protected and paid by the solr.

Shell haven't published their tariffs for ex-Green customers yet. No-one can tell you what they are but they shouldn't be any higher than the numbers in the table.

The price will should essentially be the same as Flexible October 2021, but it might have a different name for future change purposes. Given that tariff isn't on many price comparison sites, I used flexible 6 (which has the same pricing).

Thanks, I have now found what was disabled

    https://www.shellenergy.co.uk/switch/quote/

They may decide to screw Green Energy Ltd customers but that will soon become apparent.

    I have downloaded the PDF

I do not know what the Price cap rates are for my region

but from uSwitch it seems all are showing the same price within 5p a month

My price increase for a 1 bed flat will be £336

This is going to cost everyone as soon as their current tariffs run out, I can't see people too happy when they are paying £900 to £1200 more a year.

OFGEM = not fit for purpose

    Government = Pathetic

So which suppliers caused you to lose your credit balance as you claimed earlier? There should be no loss of balances from a supplier going bust but it may take a while to get the money back.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Due to increase from the 1st October.

The SoLR will agree with Ofgem a Deemed Tariff which may be different from what you can see on the Shell website. You can then either accept the tariff by doing nothing; switch to another of Shell’s present tariffs or you can switch. Octopus has just had announced a tariff for ex Avro customers that sits slightly below the Ofgem Cap. It is variable but fixed until the 31st March 2022 unless Ofgem raises the Cap.

Well, I can find several "Flexible" tariffs on their website ...
Enter your postcode, and so on ...
And the list of tariffs includes:

    Flexible 5
    Flexible 6
    Flexible April 2021
    Flexible October 2021
    Flexible Prepayment 5

    Not what I'd call simplified!
Thanks for that link. Assuming I'm placed on the Flexible Oct 21 tariff, here's a comparison of what I am currently on with Green with the new Shell tariff:

    Elec:

    Green 15.78 p/kwh Standing Ch/ day 22.0
    Shell   22.31                                        29.47

So a 34% increase in my Elec standing charge, and a 41% increase in my elec tariff

    Gas:

    Green 3.28 p/kwh Standing Ch/ day   22.0
    Shell   4.396                                        30.78

So a 40% increase in my Gas standing charge, and a 34% increase in my gas tariff

My projection from Green was for an annual bill of £1360. I shudder to think what I'll be paying with Shell.
