I heartily agree with youDeleted_User said:It is so frustrating when the quality of customer service received varies so widely and randomly, depending on which channel of 'contact' you use, and who you 'speak' to. Surely that should not be the case. I am 78 myself, but age seems to count for nothing.0

I can manage it as I have a desk job where I can put my phone on speaker and do something else, but not everyone can do that.0 -
Don’t know if it varies around the country, but up North it’s pretty much serve yourself at places like Boots, Sainsburys, W H Smith and Matalan. As someone said on another thread, 100% digital literacy is assumed to be the norm these days, irrespective of age. The current practice of dual verification (sending a security input code to your phone to verify that it is you) is especially irritating.1

I like in the North and my local Sainsbury's still offers me the choice of traditional staffed checkout, self checkout or shop and go.

I'm just going by the don't do anything advice given in these circumstances as I don't believe I've actually been told to cancel the DD at any point although the Shell green customers page did mention it I think?

Approx £2.40 saving each month on fuel at Shell stations too (may not be much of a saving ultimately as Shell doesn't often have prices as cheap as supermarkets):

@GreenCustomer Yay. Received cheque from Shell for my Green Supplier credit balance for electricity.
Just to clarify for others. I never actually moved to Shell, as I had already moved on to Neon Reef. As we know, that went well, and I am now in transit to British Gas, which is another story.
So even though I was never with Shell, it was their responsibility to sort out the Green balance, and they have. Eventually.Edit. What Shell did require from me to facilitate the refund was a copy of the final bill and balance from Green.5 -

My account is still "configurating" but I finally received my email this morning to set up my Shell account so clarified with them on my direct debit with Green going out in 2 days which may help some possibly:0
