Green Supplier Ltd switch to Shell Energy

Sad to hear the news of zog energy's demise a couple of days ago. Genuinely one of the good guys in the utility market. Was with them from inception until Jan 2021 when I moved my gas to green (always regretted it). Fully intended returning to them especially now I'm with shell. Sadly not to be. I fear energy Switching is to become a thing of the past along with switching sites and the purpose of this very forum0

Having made a comment a number of weeks ago and following this saga because I had Electricity and Economy 7 I have been amazed at the randomness of all this. I do not have a Smart meter the signal is not good enough apparently. Both companies depend on me for readings. The first guess by Green would have left me owing around £3500 when I was in fact +£800. Fortunately I took the photos of everything including the Bills and supplied Shell with the pictures.
I had an acknowledgement from Shell and in the early days cancelled my DD.
Until it gets properly sorted it's a worry we can do without..0 -
@Tafrock Ah, I see. It was just that I had a similar summary for my (manual) meter, where two of the readings were 3 digits instead of 5. Fortunately I take copies of everything, so I knew what the 5 digit versions were. They'll have to get up pretty early in the morning to catch me out.1

I spoke to Shell today as had still not heard anything. They informed me that Green has not yet transferred over any details of my account.1

had an email from shell at midday today saying my opening shell bill is now viewable online as a pdf - it even includes my opening credit balance from green, although i have since reclaimed the final 2 direct debit payments back from green - i'm guessing the reclaimed dds will eventually be recharged to my shell account

Possibly, or Green’s administrators will ask you to pay them.boliston said:had an email from shell at midday today saying my opening shell bill is now viewable online as a pdf - it even includes my opening credit balance from green, although i have since reclaimed the final 2 direct debit payments back from green - i'm guessing the reclaimed dds will eventually be recharged to my shell account0 -
Almost certainly it will get sorted, but it’s a lot less stressful when the moneys in your own pocket/bank.boliston said:had an email from shell at midday today saying my opening shell bill is now viewable online as a pdf - it even includes my opening credit balance from green, although i have since reclaimed the final 2 direct debit payments back from green - i'm guessing the reclaimed dds will eventually be recharged to my shell account

Some people don’t seem to understand that. It’s on your mind until it does get finally sorted. Different strokes, I suppose.lisyloo said:Almost certainly it will get sorted, but it’s a lot less stressful when the moneys in your own pocket/bank.2 -
I would have thought all money savers understood that.Deleted_User said:

as for micromanaging I have a few simple strategies.
I put things in my “diary” so then I can relax knowing it won’t get forgotten.
same as if I’m up at night remembering something I need to do for work. I write it down on a notepad and can them relax/sleep knowing it’s recorded.
I use multiple calendars in iCloud then I can share some with family members and switch some off/on as required.
there is no point micromanaging something that going to take a long time and you have no control over.
the strategy is simply to allow you to relax knowing it’s tracked.
I cancelled my DDs for failed companies and have not been penalised.0 -
I do exactly the same. However, as time goes on, there does still come a point where some events need to be re-diarised, because they still haven't happened.1
