Green Supplier Ltd switch to Shell Energy

    I set up my new Shell direct debit as instructed. I didn't cancel the Green one and Green have continued to take another payment today. The payment isn't showing up in my account in the Green app yet. Just a warning to anyone that didn't cancel the DD..

    Green took a DD from me in October, then I had an email from Green saying there would be no further payments.   Nothing went out on the usual date in November.   However, I was doing some housekeeping on my banking on Tuesday  and went through all my DD's and cancelled all the ones that were no longer current.

    If you had the email from Green about no further payments, you could copy that to your bank and ask them to recall the DD.   Or just wait, I'm sure it will get sorted.

    Should we stick with shell, and if so are there any fixed rates, or move to another provider (though the market must be all over the place).
    You could try shopping around but I expect any fixed rate tariffs would be more expensive than the tariff we've been moved onto now.    I've been told that it is not advisable to switch supplier until your account is set up properly with new supplier and any credit/debit balances transferred to your new account, causes a lot of complications I believe.

    @rainiorainio don't bother with fixed rates at moment. They are incredibly expensive and some like Edfs for instance have eye watering 200 and 300 pound exit fees

    I’ve not had anything at all from shell. The standard stuff on their website says that’s not a problem until mid December.

    Not really. The only contact was when I tried their email support. I did get a fairly quick response but it was obviously a bot.

    I don't seem to have an email from Green saying there would be no further payments. What date did you recieve that and from which email address?

    Greens administrators informed me of the following today

     'I should explain that it may not be possible to get this updated with the industry in order to bill based on your current meters. In the case that this is not completed the bill will remain based on estimates as it now is, but you will be able to contact Shell Energy to make sure they begin billing from an accurate starting point.

    That's very kind of them. Green installed smart meters 3 weeks before going bust and the electricity one appeared to be working fine. But neither of these meters has been used in final bill . Looks like I'm going to have to add the new meter readings to the old meter readings and compare with estimates from green. Trouble is gas meter now records in metric old meter was imperial. Hopefully shell will accept my calculations as green can't be bothered to help even though I've sent my calculations to them

    I had my final bill from Green the other day but it was based on estimated readings even though actual readings entered on the same day were available on the account. I contacted Green and requested that my final bill be re-issued using the correct, actual readings. Oliver Topel did that for me and, when I had difficulty logging on to download my revised, accurate final bill, he was good enough to email it to me.

    I reckon he's got a lot on at the moment understandably, so I think a little courtesy and patience will go a long way to resolving queries we have when they arise.

    I've still heard nothing from Shell since 7th October but I'll just chill until they make contact.

    GregK2 - I received that email on 20th October, DD had gone out on the 12th October.   

    Email was from Green <help@gocardless.com>  Email title was Your subscription to GREEN SUPPLIER LIMITED has been cancelled
