Not really sure @jazzy. Here's the response I got

     'Thanks for your email.

We are yet to have the account updated to reflect the meter exchange which took place on 03/09. We are in the process of confirming the final and opening meter exchange reads, which will then enable us to bill up to the reads you provided when Green ceased trading.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

    Kind regards,

To be fair to shell they have accepted my readings and are in process of updating my account so my correct meters are on it. They also said they would ensure the national Meter database record of my property was updated. Some suppliers never do this leading to problems down the line if you try to switch suppliers

I've been following this forum discussion just to keep myself updated on the process of the switch from Green to Shell.

I have this week been contacted by Shell, account and DD now all set up and my readings from the 27th September are showing on their website.

No final Green bill yet nor do I know my Economy 7 tariff but I might log on to my Shell account today and see if I can find that info.

I know others have found the process slow and frustrating but if it's any consolation I was with Yorkshire Energy when they went bust.   We were moved over to Scottish Power and the process all went smoothly but very very slowly, just checked my emails and it took 3 months from the day YE went bust to SP telling me they'd received my credit balance.    So with the amount of customer accounts to deal with I think Shell are doing OK so far.

My first post on MSE  :)
  • I don’t know if this helps with your tariff, they are different according to area, we are on the south east coast, but although I don’t have an account with Shell yet, they did send my economy 7 tariff prices.

    • daily electricity  standing charge     (pence per day)     :22.97            :24.12
    • day electricity unit rate                    (kwh)                      :25.53           :26.8107
    • night electricity unit rate                  (kwh)                     :9.93              :10.4254.     Might give you some idea of the difference between your last prices and shell.

Granniesue69 - thanks that's really useful.    I'm in the South West and an email from Shell on 7th October gave me prices of

    standing charge 25.66
    day rate              21.607

email didn't say but I assume including VAT.    The day rate is quite a lot different from yours in the SE
  • Hi Shades2, the second price I’m assuming includes vat. The rates they gave me first without economy 7 we’re very similar to yours, I pressed for the economy 7 rates and those are very different, I don’t know if those quoted to you include the economy rate.

Granniesue69 - Well I can probably assume my rates will be very close to yours, not sure how much prices differ by region.

No, I wasn't advised Economy 7 rate, just a generic email with day rate and standing charge.

I just logged into my Shell account and says account still being set up, no tariff details yet.    I'll use your prices on my spreadsheet so I can get some idea of what it's going to cost me.

    Thanks
  • Anyone that has set up a DD with Shell yet..... Do you have an option on what day of the month it goes out? I usually try and get my DD to go out as close to the end of the month as possible. Thanks!

I'm in the sweb region and have these same rates and they do include vat @ 5% - a single rate tariff will always be quite a bit lower than the day rate on an economy 7 tariff as they get a much lower night rate
