Green Supplier Ltd switch to Shell Energy

Previous emails told us not to cancel the Green Direct Debit, so, more fool me, I didn't. Now they say "Cancel"! I must say I feel let down by Shell in this regard. Goodness knows how long it will be before that money resurfaces! Ah well, another learning experience.

Every day is a school day. Of course, there is some stuff that you’d rather not be educated about.Always assume the worst, then you’re never disappointed. On the downside, you’ll have no friends. 😉1

Still not had any communication from Shell about our account, last email was 7th October about them taking on the account. I checked a couple of weeks back on the national database and they have taken over our supply but not had anything from Shell for a month. Hopefully will get an update, as some of you guys have. It is what it is though.

I'm not worried as most people seem to have heard nothing from Shell. I've cancelled my Green DD and just putting money aside, so I can pay when I finally get a bill, hopefully it will show credit from Green as well. Fingers crossed !!0

I've just had an email from Shell saying they have been unable to get the direct debit details from Green, that they will send another email instructing how to set up a new direct debit.
In the meantime, Green have carried on taking direct debits and I was £157 in credit with them.
I don't know if I've done right, but I contacted my bank and claimed back the last two payments, then cancelled the DD.
I'd rather have Green come after me for a £10 debt, than try to get £150 out of them!2 -
Exactly. Do what’s right for you, not the supplier, nor ex supplier. They weren’t thinking of you when they took direct debits in advance of consumption.2

Just had an Email from Shell saying my account will be set up shortly. They’ve said they can’t get the DD details from Green (probably because I cancelled it) and I can set one up with them as soon as my account is active.0

I've just claimed my £100 October Direct Debit back initially taken on 13/10/21, which was approximately three weeks after Green. stopped trading on 22/9/21. There was some resistance from my bank at first, but when I pointed out that the debit was technically fraudulent since the company had ceased trading three weeks earler and that there have been reports that Green. are not communicating with Shell, they agreed to the claim after I initiated the complaint process.

Looking back the last communication I had from Green was an email saying they'd cancelled my DD, which was fair enough as I hadn't fully signed up with them before they went bust. I assume I'll have to take out another DD with Shell in the fullness of time.
