Green Supplier Ltd switch to Shell Energy

Cancelled DD now, as Green isn't co operating with Shell.
I'd prefer to keep my future payments safe and pay Shell when asked, than have administrators decide what to do with them.... call me cynical, but it seems that way atm.2 -
So, the administrators say it's up to Shell, and Shell say it's up to the administrators. Quelle surprise. That seems quite an extended timetable to me.
Furthermore, Shell will obviously prioritise Green stoppers (new revenue generators) over Green escapees (credit balance holders). Ho hum.1 -

Same here - Green took a £100 DD payment in October (after they went bust) so I've just cancelled my direct debit. When Shell finally set up my account, then they can request a new direct debit mandate be set up at that time.

Conflicting information about direct debits on shells website. Here it says to cancel direct debit as greens administrators aren't providing account details. https://www.shellenergy.co.uk/blog/post/welcome-green-customersBut here it says NOT to cancel. https://help.shellenergy.co.uk/hc/en-us/articles/4408057729937-Green-What-about-my-bills-and-payments-Which is it to be. I've cancelled my direct debit as I'm in credit with green anyway . Seems to be no easy way to set up a direct debit with shell anywhere but that can wait for now anyway
I realise these are difficult taxing times for customers and shell energy and appreciate the work involved in sorting the current mess that is the utility market out.0 -
Surely it’s up to Shell to allocate more resources to it. After all, they have ‘chosen’ to take the Ofgem SoLR silver for numerous failed suppliers.
However, as I’ve said before, I defy anyone to make an administrator rush. Why would they - the longer it takes, the more they get paid. And they pay themselves before anyone else.1 -
They could 'allocate more resources' as you say but as they are being forced by the cap to sell fuel at a loss right now, it's understandable although annoying to new customers, like me, I agree.0

Mid October I got an email from Green to say the direct debit was cancelled; got a payment taken early October but then no more, which is fine. You should have had similar notification; best to cancel the DD mandate with your bank to make sure.

@Bacman shells original advice was NOT to cancel direct debit so I didn't . They have now changed their advice. I had no notification my direct debit was cancelled . I manually cancelled it this morning. I've since had 3 notifications from go cardless confirming cancellation0

No, Ofgen advice was not to cancel the DD, and I didn't. What I said is Green cancelled it mid October and notified me of that; so the "best advice" was to cancel it now also on your online banking, as good practice as no longer relevant. My comment was exactly that...
