BTW does anyone know the calculation Octopus use to turn gas units into Kwh?
I think it's called something like calorific value, can't seem to find it on their site anywhere.Take a look at the bill, which you'll find in the 'My Bills' section and in your email a day or two after you supply the meter reading. You'll see something like this in there:Just below that will be a worked example for your own consumption as per the meter readings...0 -
Still nothing here. My credit shows on the Avro site but the September 11th statement is the last one on there. Other than that I just get the "We're unable to retrieve your data at this time" comment. On Octopus site nothing is showing bar meter readings I have put in and saying they are taking a D/D of £100 out on 2nd Dec. I haven't paid anything since September because I cancelled Avro D/D and even though I set up one with Octopus they bizarrely didn't take it in October. £180 credit with Avro so "hoping" that along with £100 D/D will cover "most" of it but not looking forward to the bill! Not used as much gas as usual winters so far, relying on wearing thermals, a coat, and wrapping up in a throw along with the odd quick blast of a halogen heater! Feel like I'm living in the North Pole!0

my credit has come across. estimate of electricity was ok, the starting reading was the one I took in september. Gas was also correct starting reading, estimate was a little low Ive upped my dd to compensate.0

Please could someone who has received an Octopus statement just check the “For You” Calorific Value formula calculation that they’ve used with a calculator.I have 2 examples on my statement for 31st October and both calculations are slightly out.

For you:13.2 × 1.02264 × 39.8† ÷ 3.6 = 148.7For you:
121.8 × 1.02264 × 39.9† ÷ 3.6 = 1381.1

121.8 × 1.02264 × 39.9† ÷ 3.6 = 1381.1Bit curious, could it possibly be due to rounding the CV?In the second one, a CV of 39.91697 gives that answer, but in the first one it would have to be 39.65672, which doesn't help explain the 39.8 shown.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Mine shows CV of 39.6 for the September portion and 39.5 for 01/10/2021 - 28/11/20210

doesnt the value change? External temperature changes would mean there is a volume discrepancy.0
