But Oh my - that's a pretty penny for one week's cold weather.
Obviously I knew it was coming, but quite a surprise when you actually see the first bill. I think many will be struggling to stay warm if we have a bad winter.
BTW does anyone know the calculation Octopus use to turn gas units into Kwh?
I think it's called something like calorific value, can't seem to find it on their site anywhere.
We are a high usage family as there are 4 adults in the household and I don’t skimp on heating.1 -

Same here, but the latest blog post states that they produced 20k bills on Friday and hope to accelerate that. With 580k accounts to get through it's going to take a minute. At least we know that it is happening and being stuck in limbo is finally coming to an end.

My Octopus account has just gone from £78 credit to £244.77 credit up £166.77. My credit with Avro was £171.20 I guess they've taken the bill for the last week before they went under from the £171. I have a .PDF under my bills in the Octopus account for September but when I click on it it says This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.. What gets me is that in the week before Octopus took over I have used no gas, well the number on the meter didn't change in that week, it was 1868 when they went under and 1868 when I gave a final reading on the 26th September, even so my final bill was only £4.70 about half of what I expected.
Since the 26/9/21 I worked out I have used only £100 of electric and gas so my £48 monthly DD looks just about on target for the next 12 months the same as I paid Avro by overestimating my usage by 20%.
Someone please tell me what money is0 -
Anyone had a win on the Octopus wheel of fortune (or missfortune in my case winning nowt) ? For those that don't know, when you submit a meter reading every month they off a spin on the wheel (or 2 spins if duel fuel) to get potential money off your next bill.
In these depressing times, it's going to be the only thing I will be looking forward to.0 -

Has anyone had an email from Octopus saying...
``Thank you for submitting your meter readings. We'll run them through some of our validation tests and email you an up-to-date statement in the next 48 hours``
Just wondered as I have not submitted them any meter readings!Had an email from Octopus confirming they had now produced my statement for the 31st October. A further email arrived 10 minutes later with the statement attached.Everything looks OK except the Estimated Annual Usage figure for Electric looks to be out by quite a margin (around half what it normally is). I expected a change on the Estimated Annual Usage for Gas because Avro never automatically updated it each month as they should have done. For anybody receiving an Octopus statement it's worth checking that the Estimated Annual Usage figure for Electricy they've used is in line with what Avro used on their final bill.

Mastanlem said:Hi, the estimate for electricity was wrong for me too. Although it’s not that important to me as I would work it out myself if needed. Thanks for posting and confirming that it's not just me.The two main consequences of that one simple error are that the Estimated Annual Costs shown on the statement will also be incorrect and any quote you may request which uses your Estimated Annual Usage figures to calculate the quote will also be incorrect with the Electricity portion being roughly half what it should be giving a quotation looks/is far cheaper than it should be in reality.
