  • I'm just wondering why Direct Debit payments which have been collected are sitting for days showing "Pending payment. A payment of £XXX.XX hasn't yet been applied"?
    You would have thought that once it had been collected from your bank it would be added to your Octopus balance instantaneously.
  • Final bills, correctly calculated, now received from AVRO for two more of my family, so all good at our end.

    Correct Octopus balance now showing, so will submit meter readings tomorrow and see how long it takes them to prepare a statement. AVRO was about 5 days before it was visible.
    Forgot to say. I was able to download the Octopus bill from website, and also received an email the next day with my bill attached.
  • I`ve just received our Avro credit onto our Octopus account, minus the amount of money owed to Avro for our last bill.

    Has anyone had an email from Octopus saying...

    ``Thank you for submitting your meter readings. We'll run them through some of our validation tests and email you an up-to-date statement in the next 48 hours``

    Just wondered as I have not submitted them any meter readings!
    Yes I did for the meter readings I entered on 31st October. Still no statement produced. Queried with Octopus and was told they couldn't produce statements because they hadn't received the opening readings from Avro. The missing Avro meter readings appeared on my account a couple of days ago and still no statement for 31st October has been produced. Just awaiting a response to another email I sent asking them to produce the 31st October statement.

    You would have thought that once it had been collected from your bank it would be added to your Octopus balance instantaneously.
    Direct debits have to be requested a few days in advance and presumably a confirmation that the payment has been taken successfully goes back through the same process. Only when they know the payment has been successful is it credited to your account.

    Ok. Just for information, my Avro final bill was published on the my.avro site today. Readings submitted around 26 September used to produce the bill. Otherwise, all as expected.
    Octopus account (new both forms) also updated.
    I'll submit meter readings tomorrow.

    I’ve just downloaded my final Avro statement, calculated from readings submitted end of September when requested. Credit balance transferred to Octopus. All looks correct. My first Octopus direct debit was due yesterday so will be taken tomorrow and is showing as ‘pending’ on my Octopus account. I was going to take readings on 1st  but will probably do it tomorrow as this looks like being a busy week for me. Hopefully first Octopus statement will show fairly promptly and then I’ll know exactly where I stand in terms of account balance, but not expecting any huge surprises.


    2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shading
    Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

    They took 5 days with mine, also, the last bill was produced on the 22/9/21, I should have thought something was wrong as it was only 3 days after my reading, and I found out about them going under at 03:30 approx. on the 23/9/21 I quickly got off a copy of all my bills and credit balance.
    Someone please tell me what money is

    I think all Avro final bills are dated 29 September - probably the date they were appointed as administrators.

    SoLR'd from Avro to Octopus, final and accurate bill from Avro available today and credit balance showing in my Octopus balance history.  The question I have is...As Octopus are now reading my SMETS1 meters, do I need to submit manual meter readings in order to generate a bill? or will this happen automatically on a given date in the month?

    In theory, if Octopus can access your smart meter they will generate a bill every month without further effort on your part.
    If you have a smart meter we can connect to, we’ll get readings from your meter automatically and send you a bill every month. If you have a traditional (non-smart) meter, just send us a meter reading any time you’d like an up-to-date bill, and we’ll send you an accurate statement within a few days
