Octopus Energy takes on Avro customers
Nothing on the OfGem website yet, but Octopus has confirmed that "Ofgem, the energy regulator, has asked Octopus Energy to step in and look after Avro's customers as the company have ceased trading"

Shame they didn't get green customers! I'd actually not mind being with them through the winter on the price cap!0

Don't cancel your Avro Direct Debits, say Octopus.

If you pay by Direct Debit please do not cancel it. This will continue as usual and be paid to Octopus and not Avro. You will need to pay for the energy you use, and if you cancel your direct debit, you may start to build up debt.0 -
Good news for any ex Avro customers with SMETS2 meters.0

This will apply to those being moved to other providers too.2010 said:

The Octopus App allows you to adjust the monthly DD payment. I currently pay them £1 a month to reduce my balance: they did offer to repay it on demand. Bear in mind that your energy prices will be going up.2010 said:

Which is normal for this time of year & is protected but depending on the last time you were billed by Avro will depend on how much you actually have2010 said:Well a lot of us have built up credit.0 -
I cancelled my Avro DD which was due for payment a few days after they ceased trading. Octopus web site says it expects new accounts to be up and running in 14 days (really?) so by then a new DD should be set up and ready to go seamlessly.I'll believe it when I see it. To set up 600,000 new accounts in 14 days seems to me to be a bit of a tall order - particularly after Avro.
