Was hoping it may take a bit longer to be announced. My switch to Sainsbury's is due to complete on the 5th. Fingers crossed that still goes through
You will still have a relationship with the SoLR: ie, they will want to bill you for the energy that they have supplied.

Yes I'm well aware of that. They can deduct it from my approx £200 credit.
  • Octopus pay £100 for each new customer referrel.
They have just taken on few hundred thousand and not paid any referrel fees and will likely get some support for taking on Avro customers, not a bad bit of business for them.

Quite happy about this one, I know energy rates will go up that was going to be happen whatever happened.

Ironically Octopus was on my list of potential post solr processes so this might be helpful to me, the thing crossing my mind is stick whith whatever tarriff they put us on or twist to one of their rates.

Per month it was up on their fixed rates by £10 per month, so £120 per year. I am sort of glad they have gone outside the traditional big 6 for this one.

Hard to know if its worth staying on the capped variable rate they offer or taking a higher fixed rate. I don't think energy prices will be coming down in April though. So an expensive fixed rate now could work out cheaper in the long run.
    In Progress!!!
  • Just had an email from Octopus confirming the move. Yippee!

    Me too.

BUT, it says if possible enter meter readings on Avro site but last time I looked this was not possible?
  • "We will be in touch with your rates and charges soon, but they will be cheaper than anything available from any other large supplier today — and cheaper than the fixed prices we’re currently offering new customers on our own website."

    Nice one, Octopus!

I wouldn't worry. I noticed in Octopus' email that they advise to submit readings on Avro's website. Octopus' website also says:

"If you can, please make a note of your meter readings today and store them. We will ask for these soon. If you are away, or can’t make a note, don’t worry. It won’t affect your switch and we will be in touch soon with more information."

I can't submit readings on Avro's website either. I'll just take photos of the meters and give the readings to Octopus when they ask for them.

Edit: Try refreshing the meter reading form page on Avro's website - that loaded the form for me correctly.
