Octopus Energy takes on Avro customers
Comments

Well it is over 26 days ( accepting week ends in this) since Octopus approached my bank for DD to go though and still they have taken no payment, today I read on this thread that they have taken payments from others....I am so glad I cancelled the Avro DD the minute they ceased trading - I understand Octopus have taken on a bigger task and looks like more troublesome than they thought - but drawing a DD is a established task and yet they have this wrong......yep I am starting to worry.0

“ Vegastare” - I am due to make my first Octopus DD payment in 2 days time - according to an email from them - so we’ll see if it happens!1

Personally I wouldn`t be too worried about Octopus failing to take the DD because you can always make a one off payment through your account anytime.

I was surprised to read this today:

I feel sorry for the poor people who are caught up in this.Does that effect ppl moving house? Can they transfer thier exsiting account? or dose the supplier currently supplying the new address have to take on the new owner?
You need to register with a supplier & they arrange to fit the new meter, however the way things are at the moment, no one wants new customers therefore they can’t get their meter fitted. If you move house, you already have a supply so no issues. Some energy companies allow you to take your fixed deal over to the new house.0 -
