Here we go again - first Breeze and now Avro !!

I have a smart meter install scheduled today on behalf of Avro... thinking I should cancel it whilst the account is in limbo. Dont want to mess up meter readings.

I've just given my elec/gas on the Avro site, via the email link from Octupus. However, on the Avro site it is not showing the updated figures. Anyone, else have this issue?

    i haven't even got that far because when i try avro displays the wrong number in the previous reading field on the 'submit new reading' page;
the number is not one that I gave them and i am certain because i always photograph my meters when i take a reading.
besides avro show the correct reading on the main 'meter readings' history page.
i'm concerned because i don't know what has caused this error, nor what impact it will have upon the accuracy of the records avro pass to octopus.
i would like to assume that it is a tiny error that means nothing; but at this moment i'm not convinced and have decided to give the readings to octopus when they set up my account.

This is bad news for everyone. Oct are very expensive and you can find cheaper ones everywhere

I think i will be switching quite soon

Amazingly lucky for Avro customers that they;ve been taken on by a company in the sweet spot of being well run and modern.

Got to agree with this, I've done lots of calcs and was fully expecting to be switched to one of the Big 6s variable tariff. Moving over to Octopus's variable tariff which is capped below Ofgem’s cap is better than the outcome I was expecting. Very happy with this.

If you see his post history he obviously has an axe to grind.
  • Is this the correct tariff all us ex Avro's are going to be on? (Prices are shown for a postcode in the southern region)
If so, taking the new rates into account, on average, my bill will be going up by 50%!

    Octopus Tracker v1

    flexible
    domestic
    Electricity
      Unit rate:25.39 p/kWh
      Standing charge:18.33 p/day
    Gas
      Unit rate:6 p/kWh
      Standing charge:15.09 p/day

No, the tariff is a special tariff and will be below the price cap rates, so electricity should be around 21-22p per kWH and gas 4-5p per kWH, standing charges for both will be in the low 20p per day range. It will be a price increase, but it will also be the best deal you will be able to get at the moment.

It's definitley not the Octopus Tracker V1 Tariff it's more likely to be a slightly changed version of the Flexible Octopus October 2021 v1.
There may be more news available here https://octopus.energy/avro/ at 12 noon when it's due to be updated.

  • I cancelled my Avro DD which was due for payment a few days after they ceased trading. Octopus web site says it expects new accounts to be up and running in 14 days (really?) so by then a new DD should be set up and ready to go seamlessly.
I'll believe it when I see it. To set up 600,000 new accounts in 14 days seems to me to be a bit of a tall order - particularly after Avro.
Same here stopped Debit as im also in credit atm so will await the Octopus details.
