Octopus Energy takes on Avro customers

Looks like octopus have been generous at setting it below the cap given all circumstances, I have to say octopus so far have given better service than anyone else and I deal with a lot over many properties let’s hope them taking on such a huge cohort of customers at once won’t affect that too much long term3

Excuse me for trying to help people save money and warn them about how expensive OCT is. I mean, just doing quotes show at least a dozen cheaper tarrifs then OCT. They should not be allowed to take over from AVRO and force us to pay their prices even if its temporary. Its funny how they havent told us what TARIFF we are on yet? Guarantee that will be the last thing they tell us, they will milk us for a month or two of our hard earned cash beforeMWT said:xlnc99 said:Guarantee OCT will still be more expensive
I advise everyone to look for other tariffs now (dont have to switch yet) but look around. They will end up shafting usNot exactly a huge surprise that Octopus will be more expensive than the unfeasibly low tariff you were on, that after all is why you are here now...Instead of constantly attacking Octopus why don't you go find a cheaper tariff from another supplier capable of lasting the winter and just tell everyone about it?None of the Octopus tariffs have any leaving penalties, so just wait a few days for your transfer to Octopus to complete and then leave. No need to stay hear and suffer the 'shafting ' of a tariff set £10 below the Ofgem cap...0 -
Just cause its below cap doesnt mean its not going to be expensive. Below cap means diddly squatworrywart_3 said:Looks like octopus have been generous at setting it below the cap given all circumstances, I have to say octopus so far have given better service than anyone else and I deal with a lot over many properties let’s hope them taking on such a huge cohort of customers at once won’t affect that too much long term0 -
Fixed or variable? Show me a variable tariff that's cheaper than Octopus and you may have a point.xlnc99 said:Excuse me for trying to help people save money and warn them about how expensive OCT is. I mean, just doing quotes show at least a dozen cheaper tarrifs then OCT.2 -
As has been said you before it’s better than anywhere else as a new customer given what’s currently happening, you obviously are angry or have an axe to grind.xlnc99 said:

The infomation is all on their page £10 below cap. If there’s so many that you switch to let’s see…..xlnc99 said:

Why would u go for variable at this moment in time? Prices are going on way and that is up! Variable is a no go for anyone so before you know your bill will sky rocketoliverbrown said:

No axe to grind - never used OCT ever. Just looking at their prices nothing elseworrywart_3 said:

Please explain to me what that means. £10 below cap???? It means didly squat. Stop looking at cap and look at fixed term contract that offer the cheapest tarrifs. Why do you keep mentioning caps for? Fixed contract means the price is fixed0 -
The reason to go for variable right now is they are significantly cheaper, due to the cap preventing an appropriate price being charged. The fixed tariffs available for new customers will cost substantially more for the approaching winter.xlnc99 said:

It means what it says. Provided a household uses the assumed kWhs/year which is used when calculating the Cap, then Octopus will charge £10 a year less. Fixed tariffs offered by all suppliers are now significantly above the annual cost of a capped tariff for a given amount of energy. This is the result of the massive increases in the wholesale price of gas. How much the Cap might rise in April 2022 is anyone’s guess. Consumers need to take a month or so to consider options - whilst they are doing so, they are not being overcharged.xlnc99 said:
