Just looked at Santander but you need a Santander current account and it's fee paying I do have a cahback Amex but haven't used it in ages I don't like that the cashback is yearly and there's a minimum spend so where to now?
You can join and create an edge current account and as long as you don't set up direct debit it doesn't instigate the fee and it can just sit there. It will give you access to the edge saver as well I think it's now 6% up to £4000 no monthly limits or withdrawal limits.

I posted this on the credit card forum but this may also help for other cashback options https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6592743/the-co-operative-bank-membership-cashback-credit-card/p1?new=1

For me it's just the cashback/abroad combination that attracts.   I know I can get 0.5% cashback abroad with Barclaycard rewards. Any better offerings that that for abroad use?
Are you sure?  Mine gives 0.25%.

I believe there's some legacy cards (NLA) which pay a higher rate

Yes, I (and anyone) may as well keep Chase but not bother to use it. After all, you lose nothing and they could do a high savings rate again, it's still not bad.

I use Santander Edge. Credit card with 1% cashback (now the year of 2% has expired) but £3 a month charge, good rate on their savings up to £4000. The 3% charge for their current account is almost covered for me by the cashback on direct debits.

Not sure what to go for…Edge credit card (£3 service, 2% cashback that goed down to 1% after a year)  or Barclaycard reward - no fees, but 0.25% cashback.
I have to do calculations it seems to see if I spend enough to cover Edge fees.

    Anyone else having this dilemma?

Chase was my backup card for places where Amex is not accepted (around 5% of my spending).  So I'll revert to 0.5% cashback (Trading 212 for example) for that.  Trading 212 good for travel too.

I don't bank with Santander, and don't really want any unnecessary fragmentation to chase (ha!) a small amount of additional cashback.  Managing Chase was already becoming a bit of hassle (shuffling £1500 each month).

It’s easy to avoid paying the fee. There’s along thread here about it. Essentially, do not set up any DDs on the account and you don’t get charged

There are some ancient ones that pay 0.5%. My 19 years old card is one of them
