The changes to Chase cashback

lon_don said:So that's the end of it: from 7/4 no more cashback except for groceries, select transport, and fuel, and no cashback at all outside of UK or payment in non-GBP.Hmm that's a shame, I shoved everything I possible could through it and got Cashback on everything. Groceries, petrol, TV, Netflix, Amazon and Ebay purchases and managed to rack up nearly £20 in cashback in the process in the last six months. But as I bulk used this for groceries and petrol anyway for the regular payments, I'm not too bothered by the change, I can shove the other stuff back through my Aqua credit card that I still have that FAIK still give me 0.5% on everything so...0

This is almost the final nail in the coffin for me. Without the cashback the account is worthless to me and I don't particularly like the app compared to other banks. I may continue to use it for groceries but I'll switch to using my Santander edge credit card 2% cashback up to £15 per month.1

Looks like the best deal for Asda shoppers is the ongoing 3% instant cashback voucher deal from Hyperjar, which I've been using for a few months. I guess I'll continue using that for my Asda groceries, and my Amex Rewards card for everything else.0

Just started buying Tesco Gift Cards at Airtime, bit convoluted but gives 4% cashback as PAYM mobile credit, so that's other spend not going onto cashback card.0 -

For me, the appeal of Chase being my main daily spend a/c will be gone when the new cashback rules take effect.
I'll go back to using Santander 123 credit card which gives cashback of 1% on supermarkets and 3% on petrol stations/train travel, and wont need to transfer in/out of Chase £1500 every month.
Will keep Chase a/c as a back up with a few ££ balance in case they improve their savings/cashback rates in future.Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared - Buddha1
