Just use the last digits of the debit card you have, it makes no difference which current account it's linked to.

But you say "I have 2 Chase current accounts. 1 with a decent amount of savings currently earning 5%", the second of those must be a savings account, you don't get any interest on the Chase current account any longer. Are you sure you have two CAs and are switching one of those?
Thanks for highlighting that. I recently opened the 5% savings account with Chase and that's where my savings are held now.
I definitely have 2 current accounts: No1 (which the card is linked to) has a balance of zero, and No2 has a few quid in there and 2 active direct debits.
I vaguely recall at some point in the past that people had issues switching out of Chase when they also held a Chase savings account, is this still the case?
    Hopefully not.

Perhaps that was if they were switching their only Chase current account?

Ultimately it's a moot point because it's trivial to open an additional current account and it costs nothing to keep one open. People just need to avoid transferring their final account without first opening another one.
  • Having spent the weekend trying to access some funds in a chase savings account, and seeing they still offer an appealing rate, I just wanted to come here and give a strong vote against using them. They denied any issues existing with their app, and were unable to action any transfer over the weekend (finally this went through noon Monday). A fresh install/re-authentication (on a 2nd device) did work, but they didn't suggest this. Worst banking failure I have been exposed to in 40 years.

Never had an issue moving funds, are you sure it wasn't the receiving bank that was the issue?

Just to be clear, were you trying to set up a new Chase account or trying to access an existing one?

I have never experienced any problems with Chase. Online and phone agents always been helpful and polite. Just a different perspective, happy 4 customers in our house.

Took an absolute age (4 weeks) to open my first current account with them, but have since opened a second (for switching), and the 5% savings account in no time at all.

Im late to the Chase bank party, I will be opening a current account with them next week.
Is there is any referral incentive like topcashback or anything else?

Also the interest of 5% on savings is good for first 6 months, unless BR is cut, right?
Anything else i need to be aware of? Thanks

    1. If you close your account you can't rejoin.

    2. The 5% interest rate on savings for new customers falls to 4.75% on 19 February 2025. You're correct that it tracks the base rate but Chase are increasing their margin by 0.25%

Has anyone managed to rejoin chase after leaving?  Is there a period of time like one year and they let you re-join?
