Hi,I had one 24th Nov, but nothing since, was expecting one 24th Feb, as thought it was 3 month billing, but nothing. If you know your start readings you could set up a wee spreadsheet to keep an eye on usage and payments.0

Anyone know much about this ? Had the same email ?
I didn't choose british gas, I was placed with them after PfP went PoP. I would rather not have a smart meter."Hello Neil We recently emailed you about getting a smart meter and mistakenly said you could be switched to a different tariff if we didn't hear back soon. That's not the case, and we're sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
Makes me wonder just how competent British Gas are! You'll stay on your current tariff There will be no changes to your current plan regardless of whether you get a smart meter or not."
I suppose I'll just have to wait for another emailed retraction.
I'm thinking that their desire to fulfil their smart meter licence quotas overrides their customers requirements.0 -
As reported, elsethread, I received a paper final statement from PfP, this morning. How long BG will take to act on it is another matter. I'm not holding my breath.

Well the complete shower that is the pfp - BG transfer continues. No sign of a final bill from pfp; I've been informed of a credit of of £8.49 by BG. Had a bill from BG generated 24 Jan, which I paid on receipt. Today I've had an email from BG stating I have another bill generated for the period Oct-Jan and I owe around £25 quid BUT if I log in to my BG account the 24 Jan bill has been cancelled; another one generated on 1 Mar has been cancelled and the one generated 2 Mar can't be viewed as it is 'Not ready'.
So I've no idea on the billing front, and clearly, neither does BGasFashion on the Ration 2025 37/660 -

I had a bill from BG in January, which I paid. Then earlier this week they did a 'reversal' of that bill. Later the same day, they issued a new bill for the same period as the original bill, but only for the gas portion, and not electric. Original bill no longer available. Good job I kept a copy. No sign of a new bill for the electric component yet, so currently my account is artificially in credit 🙄 no explanation from BG as to what they are doing either.

I've received my pfp bill in the post today. It is correct except for them using the higher standing charge that they increased when they went bust, but it only accounts for a couple of quid so I'll let it go. Now need a BG bill to cover the period from pfp going bust and BG opening my account. So I owe them and am not in a hurry for them to sort it.0

@euronorris similar thing happened with me last week. I provided meter readings on the 25th, which prompted a new bill to be generated. A few days later they withdrew and issued a new bill, which they withdrew again and regenerated a second time. This regenerated bill only covers me up until December though for some reason, unlike the bill they generated on the 28th which was up-to-date. Total shambles really. I'm just going to make sure I provide regular meter readings just to make sure the can't really mess anything up, particularly on 01st Apr when the price cap changes, and also when the Price Promise tariff ends at the end of Apr.1

@PRAISETHESUN it's so odd. I've been doing weekly meter readings and it never prompted a bill of any kind until this week. And even then, its not a bill that covers any time since the last actual bill in January. I have taken pictures of my meter readings each time, in case they query it in the future. Oddly, everytime I have entered the gas reading I get a message that says 'are you sure this is right? It doesn't seem right'. I don't get that with the electric and I can't fathom why as i have double checked it a million times. Are they expecting us to use more?!February wins: Theatre tickets0

I initially had my payment method set to pay by card/cheque on receipt of bill, which generates a bill when you submit meter readings, as their estimated DD was over £120/month and my usage is about half of that. I changed to pay by DD after this last bill was generated as their monthly DD estimate was closer to what I expect I'll end up actually using. Will have to see how that changes things -shrugs-
Probably a good idea to keep time-stamped meter reading photos in case things get messed up, since it doesn't sound like they are applying them to your account properly. Last thing you want is them to use estimated readings or charging you more for usage when the higher price caps kick in because they applied your readings from the wrong dates.0
