I mean end reading of one being correct wrt start reading of another?
who has to fix this? Companies or their administrators?
or do we just sit tight for final bills?

They issued a bill pretty quick so glad I've been setting money aside and paid the gas portion but I thought I'd hold off until the credit is transferred and first DD is taken. I can't submit gas meter reads just yet so just relying on their estimated read which is higher. Hopefully it resolves soon and then need to worry about April and what will happen.0

Thank you for sharing. I've just done a live chat and switched to Home Energy Secure June 2023. It's around 12% more expensive than the October 2022 tariff but still cheaper that what we're currently paying, so I'm happy with that.
If you hadn't have mentioned the live chat, I'd never have known about it. As looking in the App, the tariffs offered are until December 2023 and are much more expensive.0 -

For the time being British Gas appear to have started billing from the time they actually moved supplies over via all the industry processes. This is not from 11th September, for most it's likely a date in October. They've charged standing charges for the intervening period via one off retrospective charge. But the actual use is yet to be billed. Only then will you be able to correlate the meter reads.0 -

I left symbio for PFP in July, both are now in administration.
I had an ombudsman complaint going so I received a “final” bill from symbio in October and a refund via eon next. The symbio end reading says “C” but it’s not one I’ve given them (definitely) and it’s to 1 decimal place which no one else does so looks estimated. I don’t have a smart meter.
I spoke to symbio yesterday and they said they got it from new supplier (PFP) which I’m dubious about.
it doesn’t match the “C” reading that PFP have used on all my bills since July.
it happens to be a small overlap in my case, but how does this get resolved?
I’ve sent dozens of emails to symbio who say “it been passed to relevant dept” and administrators and called them.
So what should I do?
shall I just wait for the pfp final bill?
If it doesn’t match then what do I do? How do I know which is incorrect if they don’t match?0 -
The actual meter reading used during a switch often gets altered by the industry process so it is not exactly the same as the one you gave to your new provider, but when it is changed the same reading should be used by both gaining and losing suppliers. In this case how big is the overlap?1

I’ve never seen readings done to decimal places before apart from Symbio estimates which was leading me to the conclusion it’s an estimate.
the switch was in July so I would have thought the numbers were known by now.
thanks, I will wait for the PFP final bill And see if it aligns.
