I managed to get in touch via chat yesterday and setup a direct debit as the tariff rate is slightly cheaper on there rather than cash / cheque method. They issued a bill pretty quick so glad I've been setting money aside and paid the gas portion but I thought I'd hold off until the credit is transferred and first DD is taken. I can't submit gas meter reads just yet so just relying on their estimated read which is higher. Hopefully it resolves soon and then need to worry about April and what will happen.

I had a text message from British Gas yesterday evening.  No new information:

Hi, we know you are waiting for your move to British Gas to be completed. We are working with administrators to get everything finalised including any credit that you might be owed and will be in touch as soon as we have this. You can also visit www.britishgas.co.uk/solr for weekly updates.  Thanks.

Where's it show the difference? As when I searched it was the same tariff for DD and cash/cheques for the Variable Rate fixed till 31st April. I currently pay using my 0.5% cashback credit card.

It's the same price for me, except that with direct debit I get 2% Cashback from Santander lite. I've just switched tariff to exclusive fix October 22 v2 and that's a lot cheaper with direct debit.

I've just settled my first bill from BGas, (electricity only); period from 5/10/2021 to 24/01/22; the bill was based on readings I had supplied and the bill included the 'Supplier of Last Resort transfer period Standing Charge for 25 days' charge.

For general info... I'm looking at a 40% uplift in cost from PfP tariff - from around £33/month to £46.

How did you manage to switch to that tariff? I can't see it on the BG app and it doesn't appear in any comparison sites.

Much like the 'Zero Fixed October 22' tariff it is not really a currently available tariff, but you can find CS staff on their live chat system willing to put you on it.
If you head down that path keep copied of your chat logs for the inevitable complaint when the change gets blocked further down the road.
Check here to find the rates for these tariffs: https://www.britishgas.co.uk/GetAQuote/tariff-information/tariffs

Just got billed for gas and electricity for the same period - over £1000 gulp!!  I was £350 in credit with PFP which would have helped if it ever shows up. 70% of our bill is electricity, I don't know what I can do to reduce but I am banning the tumble dryer! we only use electricity for usual things, cooker, washer, tumble dryer sometimes, no heating. All lighting is LED.

I will go over the readings but they are from my smart meters so probably correct. Was on 12p now 25p kwh so its doubling was expected but its still shocking to see in £££ on a bill.

Can someone advise how we get these bills to correspond.
I mean end reading of one being correct wrt start reading of another?
who has to fix this? Companies or their administrators?
or do we just sit tight for final bills?
