PfP Energy ceases trading - here's everything you need to know

    Managed to get into the British Gas app which is now asking for a meter read for electricity. Not had an email requesting this and the app only shows electricity. Do I give them now or wait for the email? Also, do I give them the latest reads or the ones I gave PFP? The app now says British Gas are supplying my electricity.

    How long will it take for PFP Energy to transfer accounts to British Gas?

    BG should have given you a date in their email.

    Hi,
    I was told on 21/9 my supply start date, Electricity, 30/9, nothing yet, then,
    8/10  was told my supply start date, Gas, 21/10, why 3 weeks apart?
    Have supplied electric reading, but not showing in account yet, not been asked for gas yet.
    No info on DD yet.
    Just have to wait, I suppose.

    Gas and electric start dates rarely coincide. A quirk of the industry.
  • Of all the energy companies web sites I am finding BG the worse! Gave them the readings twice so far and it still said's its not received them. Makes the SP site seem like a work of art! And I must admit that after being moved to SP from Tonik now wished I had stayed with them! And I never would have expected I would ever say that! Over the years only Tonik proved reliable and easy to use despite their later billing issues which never effected me anyway. Never did get my £12 penalty fee refunded from PFP despite phoning them and being told it should be refunded. Bet they will try another £12 round the 14th if they can!

    No order or account numbers on the email.

    Logged in to pfp to see the last smart meter read was taken on the same day. 

    Cancelled my DD a few days ago as my account was sitting at £300 in credit.

    I'm electric only at home.

    Anyone else still waiting for the contract from BG?

    The last contact I had with British Gas was an email on 20th September. Saying we are getting everything ready for your switch. You don't need to do anything. We will be in touch soon.

    No order or account numbers on the email.

    Logged in to pfp to see the last smart meter read was taken on the same day. 

    Cancelled my DD a few days ago as my account was sitting at £300 in credit.

    Hi.  I have heard nothing from them either.  I did look at their live chat but it said because of PFP, Money Plus and another one they were very busy and to leave the line open for their vulnerable customers.
