I switched to Sainsburys/EON on the 18th September from PFP/British Gas.  My supply started on the 5th October and my first direct debit has been taken.  Eon now showing as my supplier for both fuels - British Gas never showed as my supplier for either, despite their 'welcome' emails.

I am so glad I didn't listen to Ofgem or MSE Martin!

I was electric only with Pfp. I instigated a move to Green on the day PfP ceased to trade. I then realised that Green didn't look like survivors and tried to cancel the switch. I was then in limbo, with messages from BG, but the switch to Green did succeed and my first payment has been taken, even though they've ceased to trade. I'm waiting for a second switch the Green's SoLR, Shell, to complete.

My mother in laws  BG account all set up. We spoke to them yesterday to set up a dd. They suggested £20 a month for the next 6 months and then they would review it. However we pointed out we were paying for both utilities £104 a month. So we have agreed that figure.
  • My BG account still showing 'Oops something wrong" and that's it.
  • Hi,
well, just checked BG, they have now added gas to my account, says order placed 6 Oct, supply start 21 Oct,
though for electric it was order placed 20 Sept start 30 Sept, though still not started.
No meter readings showing yet either.

Has any ex-pfp customer managed to give BG a meter reading and have it show in your account portal? I gave them one via the link in the email and they are saying they don't have it. There is also no option to give one via my online account. I'm going to give it a day or two then call/text them if it remains missing
No luck here either. i've given them readings twice via the app and once via the website, but they still seem to be asking for the readings. They'll just have to estimate them.

I've tried giving readings for 2 weeks either online, via the app, web chat and speaking to their Customer Services team, yet they don't show on the online portal. I've just left it now and BG can get the reading from my SMET2 smart meter, if they want it. I will be looking to switch to another supplier as soon as possible as I got no confidence in BG.

I tried via BG website to add a meter reading for elec. but very unclear as I was on single tariff, i.e. not ecom. 7, with a SMETS1 meter so 7 digits if include leading zeros - got error msg that reading should be between 4-6 digits but need to include leading zeros!   Went to web chat - had chat with agent who took details - said would update account.  No meter readings showing...

Oh yes, and my switch to Neon has been blocked.

The only answer to the above issues I'm afraid is patience. An SoLR transfer is not the same as a normal supplier transfer due to the volume of accounts being moved.

Don't worry about things like meter readings and what the online account shows. The IT is set up for standard transfers so things will look a bit wonky at first but in my experience everything will iron itself out. Take your regular meter readings and keep them, personally I wouldn't be contacting BG to try and give them or query anything as it's likely a waste of your time.

I tried multiple times to give meter readings, via app and online and it never seems to have 'stuck'. I try not to worry, but the email requesting them gives a deadline of 9th, and I don't want the lack of them being recorded to cause issues. Sigh.
