Was on a monthly dual fuel with PFP, so Ofgem switching me to British Gas.
24th September, contract has come through for Electricity, I've been put on a tariff called Price Promise April 2022, with a cash or cheque payment.
Heard nothing about gas yet, so I went on webchat, and was told not to worry, it was all going through. The responses felt very much like a copy and paste text, they didn't even ask for any meter numbers, I think I just had to confirm my name and address.
The person I was chatting to even said I would be on the same tariff as when I was with PFP, which kind of made me worry that they didn't actually know what they were talking about, as I really can't see that happening. The new prices they've quoted for electricity mean I will be paying more of that alone than I did for dual fuel. I questioned that and he confirmed staying on same tariff. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to request a transcript of the chat, so not holding my breath.
So, its now transfer day, and still nothing about my gas?
It should all work itself out though. You can keep an eye on the industry "who is my supplier" databases to see how things are progressing.
All PFP customers are being transferred to the Price Promise April 2022 tariff. Thats the tariff BG and Ofgem agreed. It's at the current Ofgem price cap.
You're right in saying the BG agent is talking gibberish saying you'll stay on the same PFP tariff.
Is it not the case that the SoLR (or maybe the previous supplier) honour the original tariff deal up until the official date of switching that customer's supply to the SoLR? In that case the customer is "on the same tariff" until their switch date, which may be a little way off.0 -
B Gas have e-mailed asking for a meter reading. Followed the link provided, entered reading apparently successfully then got message saying 'something went wrong, please ring 0333-*****'. Did so and was told waiting time was 40 minutes. Will try again later.1

I think I'm glad my switch from PfP to Green succeeded. I had no trouble posting a meter reading with them, despite them not being in business. Just waiting for the switch to Shell, now, which I gather will use the Green reading.

Seems things are happening all be it slowly! Not got to either of those stages yet but they will be doing things in batches. It is strange that the gas database showed me has British Gas 2 weeks ago but the Electricity still PFP.0 -
Mine changed yesterday for electricity. And I got a survey request from British Gas asking me how wonderful I think they are. I told them!0

A tip for Boxman. I had the same issue with BG meter reading -- web site not workings (OOps message) and 45 minute wait (I was cut off after 7 mins.). Go to the complaints section of the website and complain that the site wouldn't accept your reading and the phone wait was 40 minutes. Give them your reading and account number and they will accept the reading via complaints.Je suis sabot...1

Thanks Hoof, I'll have a look at that.0
