I’m on dual fuel with PFP and Just been notified my electric will be moving to British Gas but no word about gas supply yet.. will this be sent separately from British Gas?
    Anyone else has sep notifications?
    thanks
Yes, me too.  I queried it on webchat.  I was asked for my meter serial number and, after checking, it was confirmed that the switch was in progress. Back to waiting.
  • Just checking have people just cancelled Direct Debit directly at the bank now and no £12 penalty charge?
Or better to call PfP and cancel directly with them.

    Thankyou

It seems the £12 charge was only applied on the payment due date after it failed.

Although nobody has reported the £12 charge in the last few days.
  • I cancelled the direct debit, as I believe they have enough of my money, and I'd rather see a bill and pay it manually (if it looks sensible) rather than giving them the opportunity to take more than necessary.
  • I did eventually phoned them and asked for the £12 to be refund. The guy I spoke seemed quite helpful but so far no sign of it. Bet it won't get refunded!

My payment was due yesterday (27th September).  They didn't get it as I cancelled my DD when they went bust.  As yet there's no £12 charge on my account.

Looks like I've escaped BG; my switch to Green has gone through. Now it has to change to Shell. Fingers crossed the Shell deal is better than BG.

Given that BG tariff is at the Ofgem cap, I’d be surprised if Shell came up with anything much better.  Octopus have promised £10 below cap for Avro refugees, not sure if that’s monthly or annually.

Edit: according to this just posted MSE article https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2021/09/energy-firm-gone-bust--how-your-new-firm-and-tariff-stacks-up/ BG and Shell will be the same at £1277 annually. Obviously that’s for average use so the details for the tariffs will vary.

Somebody mentioned a Shell reward card. Don't know if it is true but it would have the edge on BG if so.

Yes, if you get utilities from Shell and you sign up to their "Shell Go Plus" loyalty scheme, you will get a 3% discount on petrol and diesel (roughly 4p/litre) plus various other discounts in their forecourt shops. Occasionally there are bonus offers or freebies too.
My phone & broadband is currently with Shell and I'm a loyalty scheme member with those perks.
