Given how much you've got on, and how stressed you are, I'd focus on getting stuff tidy in the garden, not doing anything more with it. It doesn't matter how boring it looks, just make sure all the junk is gone, and it's low maintenance. If that means a square of grass surrounded by hedges/fences, so be it.

Work out what's going to give you the most impact for your energy - chopping down overgrown shrubs is satisfying if you can bag them up and take breaks to dispose of them (and come home via a stop for a coffee in peace). Mowing always makes things look a lot tidier. Even piling things up neatly helps.

Also, only do one job at a time. Turns out it's so much easier...
  • Yep Greenbee, that is good advice.

I went to the tip, in the sexy overalls half forgot I had them on. Took a load of rubbish basically, broken plastic boxes, old lino, the kitchen rubbish (save it from stinking out the bin), bloody evil packaging, old paint and some rabbit waste... have also filled the green bin and put together one of the raised beds. Unfortunately someone near by was burning rubbish, they were definitely burning plastic as I have a horrible headache. The poor rabbits. The smell was foul.

Tomorrow I am getting lots of deliveries, so I shall be at home all day, hopefully the weather is good and I shall be in the garden for most of it, making my next pile for the tip and finishing off the back bit. I am fairly pleased with the progress, which is unlike me.

I need to do a tiny 12 minute walk to get my 30 minutes. I should clean out the indoor animals....UGH!!! * has enormous sulking fit*

I'll join you in the sulking fit.  A friend has talked me into doing something for him that I really hate doing (sorting out a mess he's made - not cleaning, even he wouldn't push his luck that far).  Why can't I just say no?  It is just so infuriating.  I'm not really annoyed at him but at me.  Why is it worse being annoyed with yourself than it is being annoyed with someone else or is it just me?

Sounds like you’re making some good progress in the garden. Someone had lit a fire where I live today, so annoying that people do this when the weather is good. I had washing out 😡 I was under the impression that it’s illegal to light a garden fire before 6pm.

  • It is. I think I am tired and hormonal.

I should be happier but I think the headache and the backache have rather put a dampener on things. Plus I let it slip I wasn't keen to cook the dinner for Boxing day, that was a disaster.

And yes, I get SO BLOODY ANNOYED with myself.

very hard not to be self critical I think.

  • It's SO much easier just to be horrible to yourself rather than making the effort to be kind to yourself. I know that feeling well.
Take care my lovely - you are doing great :kissing_heart:

Because those of us who have this problem make endless excuses for other people and are very rarely as harsh to them as we are to ourselves.  Even when the anger is justifiable and should be aimed at the people who caused it.

  • One day I am going on holiday and I will legitimately be able to sit and do nothing.

I am so so upset today. I think the finance review is really stressing me out, the realisation that I am a financial disaster and I will be stuck here forever, despite trying so bloody hard, the reality of that is becoming apparent.
