Hello,

Welcome to my new diary. I have one big goal to own my own place, preferably a house but more likely a  two bedroom flat. With this in mind I have so far saved 12,000 pounds.
In case you didn't already know I am pretty old ;) and live with my mum - she used to go abroad a lot but no longer does, initially due to family illness and then good old covid! She has become quite ill and needs a fair bit of help and has done for the last 8 months or so.

My current smaller goals are as follows

1. Clear the decks

Do ALL of the crazy things  I have planned for the house and my bedroom and the garden. Organise things, re arrange all the rooms, make more use of the furniture, make it safe for mum, put the alexas in better places - all the silly things that will make things better. get RID of everything I can, organise what is left.

2. Being Professional

Improve my job prospects, complete any free training I can, get up to date on the jargon, the latest b*llocks in education and look into qualifications I can do as well... and go back to having a second job. All to improve my employment prospects and my confidence at work.

These should take 4 months. Till November. Then I can start to job hunt properly, knowing "stuff"

3. Wellbeing

Calorie count and exercise to lose 40 pounds.

10 pounds by September  31st. ( I lose super slowly)
20 by November 30th
30 by Jan 31st
40 by March 31st.

4. Savings

Save 1000 pounds a month (house and then yearly insurance and Christmas expenses)

Things are changing whether I like them or not, as they always do and I must focus on my dream of home ownership.
Nevertheless she persisted.
