  • My rabbits love my lavender plant. They’ve eaten most of it so I’ve had to move it just in case yours is in reach of them!
I can't let mine free range, there are too many foxes, cats, birds of prey (!) about, It would be great if I could, the grass wouldn't need cutting, the weeds are mostly what they can eat so they would be co gardeners for a bit any how, until they ate ALL the plants.

  • Check your soil type with the lavender. We have very acidic soil here which is great for camellias but terrible for lavender, so have to grow ours in pots of compost rather than open ground.
Our soil type is clay. I don't think it is suitable for well anything! but I was going to dig a bigger hole and put compost in it and hope for the best. What do you reckon?

  • In vaccine news, my arm is in agony. Like proper pain when I try and use it to do anything other than type! I can't believe it. Have taken paracetamol, and may have a second cup of tea!

  • I was feeling a bit rough when I got up - due to vaccine but feel much worse now. Yuck. The thing about looking after someone is that no one cares or can be interested in how you are doing. If I am ill what happens to Mum?

I have to take the dogs to the grooms and then show the chemist pictures of mum's legs as she thinks she is getting ulcers.
My bil isn't doing so well, he has blisters and a rash. Being bed ridden is very hard on the body. I really don't know how my sister copes or even if she is coping. Mum is no longer  as supportive - not because she doesn't want to be but purely because she is in so much pain and worry that she doesn't have the capacity. Also I don't think she realises how ill he is.

    Anyhow time for dog grooming.

Roses love clay, although it helps if you improve it (for a start that way you can get them in). And at least you don't have moles!

Dig lots of sand, and a little compost into the clay for lavender - it likes poor soil. Mulch it with bark which will then hopefully work into the soil and help improve it.

Clay soil requires a lot of digging and adding organic matter, but it does pay off. Particularly if you like roses :)

I did a lot of soil improvement to a fair bit of the garden, as had the previous people, the garden is full of roses funny enough ;)

The trouble with this bit is it is all clay 100%. I tried adding stuff most years it just doesn't move. I might think about putting them elsewhere............

  • Some days you just feel like screaming. Straight up screaming the place down and in the next breath you know you don't have the energy.

I think I am going to work on the vision for my life. I need some inspiration. Or vodka. X

  • In the end I did neither, Mum wanted me and then it was time for bed. Have woken up today with a temp and a headache? Vaccine side effects?

Might go back to bed in a bit. Feel so rubbish! but kitchen is sorted and mum has had breakfast.

I have this worry myself , like If I were to get covid what happens to mum? And do I stay here and risk contaminating the house or do I book in to a hotel.............I've tested this morning after sundays boat and I'm fine but I am a bit overly cautious if I am around a lot of people
  • I feel a bit better and no worse so think I will get on with a walk and some work in the conservatory. I avoid going to places that are busy Efes, and if I do I always test and generally I have stayed outside a fair bit. We did drink indoors on Saturday but the pub only had about 12 people in it!

Sounds silly but bought toiletries yesterday and am looking forward to using them so that is spurring me to get dressed etc. I think from next week I will have to shower first, I wait for mum at the moment and once I started to feel rough it was too easy to go back to bed.  However work is looming and I need to be more on it.

So weird, am just constantly hungry. Big sign of a migraine for me. Am drinking water to see if that helps. XX
