My suggestion for boxing day is 'I've been invited out and am going - the rest of you do what you like'3
-
My dear departed MIL always used to host Boxing Day. However she used to go to SIL’s for Christmas Day and SIL would ply her with drinks. Which meant Boxing Day she was too tired/hungover to bother. One year we went to hers to find the table laden with food still in its wrappers, some plates and cutlery. She just told us to help ourselves 🤣 Maybe you should adopt that tactic 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

Fingers crossed for you.
NO. I didn't stick with any of the array of utter morons I "dated". Wow Rosa. Thank you. Literally never thought about it like that.
XXXIt's not just us who are fed up with it and it's nonsense
Highly recommend that chapter, the one on 'no being single does not mean I am impossible to share a house with' and - well all of them basically, I spent most of the book snorting my drinks with laughter and shouting YES EXACTLYDebt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

Personally I would say that being divorced is actually more of a sign of not being able to share a house. I landed up wondering why I had been so naive as to marry twice, I mean a second one after the first disaster! Only I could have been so daft. The current one wants me to move in with him - not going to happen.

Right the appointment went as well as I thought. The guy was very kind and didn't charge, I need to look at my pension. I don't have enough money for anything. Ever.
I must save. WAY more.
I don't know what I am going to do about any of the information I gained today. It was MORTIFYING to sit there and explain my situation, the ins and outs of my finances, the family situation.
I am going to nap as I am quite pathetically tired after the meeting and have a headache, the pressured feeling of being albeit politely scrutinised was like I said mortifying. On the plus side I have done my walk.

Great you’ve had the appointment and at least know where you stand. Not surprised you’re tired, hopefully a good sleep will help and can think about any actions you want to take after some downtime and rest over the next few days or weeks.April 2020 - £102,222 Loans/CC’s.

Just remember that owning property is not the be all and end all of life. You have a good job, get paid a good wage and can afford to rent a decent home.
You have to look for the positives and you have lots of choices. They might not be what you envisioned but I think I'm not alone here when I say that no ones life really turns out how they envisaged it would. You have to adapt to the circumstances you find yourself in.
