Just just a quick check in as a neighbour has borrowed my laptop and I struggle a bit with my iPad.
Not a NSD yesterday as we needed fresh fruit but we did manage a three mile walk before the rain started.
Finished the book I was reading and started the next one in the series.Beautiful day here so another walk after breakfast, I think.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Was dissatisfied with progress yesterday as nothing 'seemed' to change but on reflection, several biggish jobs were moved on a stage (weeding, watering, moving soil, water and stones for mum, sorting stones and leaves where her cousin cut back the shrubs 2 weeks ago) and the large cabinet in the shed was moved in two stages. The cabinet is not particularly large except in relation to the shed but some things needed moving out of the way/ off the top, then on my first attempt it knocked something over which then wedged and then jammed on one of the 'ribs' of the shed. Stopped, had a rest and a think then went back.
Have ideas for using some shed items (frame for mini greenhouse that only lasted a few days before attempting to hurl itself into next door's yard) elsewhere in the garden. Need to finish off the part I'm doing before moving on to the next two large jobs (one for mum, one for me for fun) and making space - lots of things that need moving to some other part of the garden (including large curbing stones to near the gate.
Grateful for finishing drying the sheets that had to be folded on the line, for yesterday's washing drying, for a new to me serial (not recommending it, it just a bit of light-hearted relief - lead actor has written it which is the only explanation for why his character is irresistible to women). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage6 -
Morning Turtles! The sun is shining, the bulldozers are scraping up the road surface, the men sound in cheerful mood as they shout to each other. Hope they are wearing sunscreen.DS4 is off at a cooking session at the summer school 12-2 so I will get out of the house for a while.List of things to accomplish today written, washing up done, laundry on, liquid breakfast (shake, not cocktail, sadly) , and enough leftovers in the fridge to do a 'pick a plate' for lunch.Got a £5 'Big River' voucher from a survey site (£8 this month so far- odd how they come in fits and starts) and the PE kits were ordered and put on the cc. Now got an email to say they will not guarantee they will be here for start of term.So I can announce, golden envelope style, my current NSD count for August 2021, is ....... 2 (Quack! - in solidarity with the odd looking duck of earlier)4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Evening turtles. NSD number 1 today finally! I did have to buy a prescription but as it's a health spend I haven't counted it. I needed a few bits for the rabbits but my search was fruitless so no spend there.
Grateful for a good swim this morning, and cycling to the gym too which I'm usually too lazy to do! Had a relatively good day at work, no winding down even though I only have two weeks left, still got a full caseload with no sign of when they'll be taken over by other people, but I'm on top of things which is the main thing! Weather has also been nice today.7 -
My gratitudes for today also contain lavender. I have had a scraggly sad looking lavender bush for the last 2 or 3 years, and I threw it in a new location in May and told it either to buck up its ideas or just die already. It has decided to double in size and throw out flowers like it means to make a full recovery. It just needed a change of scenery - a change of maybe 9 feet. Location matters. Also picked a handful of green beans and pea pods - yay! Spent today so it is not a NSD but might be able to rack up a few in a row now that I bought the essentials. So still on NSD 2 but small things were achieved and kids are happy.

Evening
I've been very spendy today as decided to bulk buy cat food as suggested by mothernerd. Meant i spent over £70 in t0sco but hopefully the cat food will last this month. Also bought a few small supplies but did manage to pick up some free food from zero waste hub too. Made a bit more progress with my work frog but am going to have a teams call with a colleague tomorrow to get me on the right track. Have booked & paid half towards accommodation for end August for DD2's graduation - went through that hair b&B site which was a palaver but have booked a house with off street parking for me, DD1 & her boyfr at a good price. Wanted a house rather than a room so can save money by cooking own meals and also bake cakes as think we are having a picnicDD1 will pay the other half.
Gratitudes - helpful colleague at work; free food and no food waste; lettuce still growing strong
