They were hard!  - I did much better with the other chap's.  You scored better than me with what you were given though.
Well done! Great shout out to the Turtles.

    Well done thrifty.

Yesterday I finally got to go to town (haven't quite sorted my figures out, which is why I haven't been on here). My ankle is still strapped up and still throbbing so it was supposed to be a mini shop. Taxi to Wilko (diy stuff for me and mum), then cross to Tessimo to buy more of the things which weren't in stock when my delivery arrived, using my 10 pound gift card (forgot to do that, she asked me about a T card and although there's one linked to my account, I didn't have a physical card).

Walked into the front room and mum asked if I was going shopping. She wanted a 21st card which said grand-daughter and the birthday is next week and the card 'has to' go. So spent 30-50 at W's (of which mum owes me 7.00, she should probably pay for the hasp and padlock for the shed 12.00 and may owe me for the other sealant 6.50 when she finds she can't use the one she asked me to get). Went in b00ts for a meal deal (was on the altered route ie opposite direction to my chosen one and my ibuprofen stock is getting low so bought some at W's, B's and T's).

Did as much bench hopping as possible (W's have an inside one) but as I got nearer the traffic lights they were all occupied. No spaces in the bus station (looked in the two rows of stands nearest and bits of the further ones) or inside the mall (please forgive me for the meal deal as by this time I was on the point of going in a cafe for breakfast and a drink, just so I could sit down. Settled for leaning against Peppa pig's car and didn't even jump when it asked me my name.

Card shop was empty. Found 21st and grand-daughter cards but not both. Asked a woman who was another customer, then went to the counter. Young lad found one and was looking for another but I said it would do (fulfilled the criteria and never know if mum will/ won't like cards). Another 1.79 that mum owes me. Spotted a vacant bench further up (someone did come and sit on the other half but we were facing in opposite directions and I was too tired to argue).

Was extravagant and had my eyebrows shaped (5.00 but I gave her an extra 1.50 from the change). Last time I had it done was before DS1's wedding in 2018 and it's not something I can do myself any longer.

Went to the next vacant bench then outside and across to the crossing. Lights were changing but I just waited and pressed the button again then held on to the post. Stalked a man with a little trolley who kindly let me have it (none in the trolley run). Pulled out my list and stuck to it except for checking a couple of items on the 'wanted' list (another place to cross off because they didn't have them), avoided the beckoning of the stationery aisle and only picked 2 items from the reduced pile.

Taxi took ages (leaned against a  plane called Jay Jay), 4 of us waiting. Ate when I got in (from my purchases) and went to bed at 6.30pm. Mum liked the card.

Mum seems okay with my 'first stage of moving home' plan (although she's misheard it). Have suggested I continue to sleep here. I will be here when she goes to bed and when she wakes up and if she needs me during the night - all the times she has been most ill have been at night. My plan was to start going home for most of the day, at first once and later twice during the week (like an actual day off). She's understood that I will go home during the day (most days?) but will stay if she's not feeling well, has an appointment, do anything else she needs plus gardening and diy. Which suits me.

It's chucking it down today so may spend time in the shed, sorting out all my screws, drill bits and larger tools. Twin two came earlier with small boy and daft dog (who has finally quietened down a little bit) and set up new telly. I have DS's large tv and the roku box in my room now (analogue tv so no regular channels) and mum has decided the small tv (working but no controller) can be added to the tip pile (I'm hoping to sneak a couple more things in).

Gratitudes having my eyebrows done, enjoying my library books, more cosiness in my sanctuary (I will put those fairy lights up). Mum's version of the moving home plan means I can act on a few other ideas (will pack most of my kitchen stuff away in boxes).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
