Thrifty - chamomile tea works wonders on all mouth related nonsense - it reduces the swelling and stops infections taking hold. The salt water can be a bit harsh after a while.Today I have been mad busy, ds4 had a graffiti workshop at Summer School. I got given a surprise invitation to a wedding ceremony yesterday, and the wedding is tomorrow. I have laundered a dress and hope that it is ok, I bought a c/s pair of heels (unworn, still had the labels on the bottom) for £3.75. Will only wear them for about 2 hours. Will buy some yellow dye for after the ceremony and dye the dress, I have been meaning to for ages. Have enough 'free' money from surveys on that 'big river' site to do it for free. Then it will be a 'new' dress for next time.Took out £50 for the card. I do not know her well, she came over to the UK from 'The Orient' somewhere I cannot at the minute remember, to be with her chap (local boy) she met out there, and about 2 weeks later, lockdown happened. Poor thing has been nowhere and knew nobody with pretty, but limited, English, so I made sure to be friendly and introduce her round to everyone in the building and always stop to chat when we meet on the stairs.I have lived abroad, and really you meet some lovely people, and you can count on the kindness of strangers. So I am still on NSD3. Bought a lightbulb while I was at it. Then came home, put on the 'girl shoes' and wore them for 4 hours whilst cooking supper, cleaning up, and making candles out of some old ones, and some new wax pellets - so it was tidying up stuff too.DH and DS1 were totally weirded out that I was suddenly taller than they are, instead of me being tiny house dwarfI figure I can wear them for 2 hours without embarrassing myself too much (how long does it take to get married??) Not worn heels since the last wedding I attended about 10 years ago. I will park as close as possible (20 meters), and try not to sound like a clippety-cloppety cart horse. At least it will stop me going shopping afterward
So should rack up another NSD.
All in all a good day.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD No 4 yesterday but I needed chicken for tomorrow's dinner and salad stuff so no NSD today.
I spoke to the Boy last night and he was feeling slightly better. He didn't answer his phone a little while ago so I guess he's still trying to get some sleep.
Heavy showers and thunder here so we weren't able to get out walking. We don't often get thunder here and it lasted for ages. More forecast for during the night.
Getting on really well with my new book.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Evening
Spendy again as had hair cut and so did DD2 so i paid for both. Walked there and back and then walked to the station to wave off DD2 so did over 10k steps - DD2 helped me set up my bitfit so i can track my walking. Also paid for DD2's graduation robe. Yesterday we went to the cinema which was fun and i remembered i had a voucher so only cost £2. DD1 stayed over as she went for a meal with some friends so i was mum's taxi for her .
DD1 brought me some bara brith from her trip to anglesey, I've had 3 slices but i'm putting it in the freezer now!
Gratitudes - lovely time with both DDs; good chat with hairdresser; pizza and wine for tea

Today I am grateful for a break in the rain while we unpacked the car and also when we went to try contact lenses with dc, for coming home with 90% of our clothes washed and clean, for dc having a good nap after pulling an all-nighter, for 95% chocolate, for rubber gloves when doing yukky cleaning jobs.

NSD 4 today! Did the wedding thing, she looked lovely but had no family there - wedding streamed to HK, glad I went as about 95% of the people there were 'his side' so at least she had people in her corner too. Remembered how to walk in heels after about an hour. I looked fab too.Came home, just made some coconut buns and some chocolate buns for pudding as I am having a huge craving and will enjoy one with JC (Clarkson, rather than Jesus) giving away a million pounds tonight (maybe).I ordered the yellow dye for the dress with free vouchers, cleared a section of floor that had become a dumping ground, cleaned the paddling pool of algae, moved a couple of fuchsia to fill a gap and see if they thrive, and got all the tools ready for the jobs on the list tomorrow.Feeling quite in control now, after the wedding nerves.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Delurking to ask how your son is doing x6
-
Thank you @foxholes I'll certainly look into that. Managed the pain a bit better today, had to hold off on the strongest painkiller until I'd taken middle son to work, but when I did, I went to bed & had the best 1.5 hour sleep ever! I lay in one spot & never moved.
Because I was feeling more able this afternoon, I listed 5 items on selling sites, looked through a booklet with hints & tips to see if any were relevant to me (there weren't, so recycled it), did quite a bit of knitting & put washing on the line after hubby carried the basket out for me.
Had some lovely messages from people who are true friends & appreciated the little things. NSD#4
Grateful for having a better day, special people, pegging the washing outUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Glad to hear his language is improving, ditty, - and that he knows who you are - fingers crossed for more progress xx Has anyone given any sort of possible timescales - or is it still far too early days for that yet? He has so many turtles rooting for him! x
