Thanks for August, apple. I have only been half present but have managed a reasonable number of NSDs, stayed more or less in budget (mum bought some things and I have no idea what they cost). Some items went to the tip, garden is progressing but not as fast as I'd like. Definitely below par health wise but resting lots, drinking lots of fluids. Some thing we didn't want have been passed on to my brother (soup and liquorice allsorts). Mum had a good birthday weekend - lots of cards and presents (most people had already bought things). Lots of phone calls and visitors over both the past 2 weekends but not too much (mostly).

Good ending to the month. DS2 and his gf came to visit. DS2 arrived first as he is on site today so just had to stroll down. GF came later with mum's 'real' present - the rockery plants. Asked DS2 to move some things into the shed for me, then he started to sweep and tidy (not necessarily putting things where I wanted them but I just let him get on with it) so a lot more clear space. They are still coming back next Saturday to put a few hours in (I want to do the edging around the front first).

Very tired today (went to brush my teeth and had to sit down again first) and ankle and various bits of my leg hurt. Food was as simple as possible - was going to have cheese spread on oat cakes but had crispbread by the bed and found a wooden knife so didn't need to go to the kitchen.

Grateful for visit from DS2, sitting in the yard chatting with his gf (she had been working in A & E), DS2 surviving childhood (he's been telling gf the history behind his many scars/ concussions etc).

Thank you apple for this month's thread
Foxholes we don't have an aga I'm afraid, the one in the house when we bought it was broken, though I did grow up with one. Very handy as we had no electricity for a few years!

A long day today, was up at 5.15am to take hubby to the airport. He's gone to Aberdeen to have his dialysis tubes put in his arm, back on Thursday. Arrived home to messages saying that 2 out of 4 support staff were going to be off sick today, so a busy day trying to cover all 4 posts! Made banana & maple syrup muffins before work, thought I'd be starving by breaktime. Very tasty! Dashed to the tip after school & emptied the boot of the car. Cooked DS1's tea, before he went back to work. After doing everyone else's tea, I went out & bagged up all the old roofing felt from the garage & put it in the boot to dump tomorrow. Swept the drive, to clear it of nails. Phoned hubby & FIL, washed up, had a nice bath, off to bed in a mo.

Grateful for headteacher thanking me for today (it's nice to feel appreciated), clearing junk from the garden, achieving lots today & not collapsing with tiredness.

See you all in September! 😃
