That sounds like one utterly joyous day, mothernerd. I shall arrange for 4 sedan chair carriers to be at your beck and call.Today I am grateful for finding the post office in Leek (or Carrot, as dc now calls it!), for a walk with dh ( up and down, sludge and slurry, steamish train, canal, boat and lock - perfect), for tea turning out awesome, for sunshine, for dh not losing our only key to the property...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

NSD 10.Grateful for a sunny day, line-dried laundry, teeth cleaned by the hygienist, finishing a piece of work that’s been on my to-do list for too long, and a freshly made bed.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6

Sounds like s great day @mothernerd ☺️
I managed to sleep the whole night through without waking up, awoke at 6.30, so got up & took painkillers. First day back at work, so went early to catch up with a few people before I started. All went well, though very tired by the end of the day, so had a nap for half an hour when I got home.
Had to laugh, one of the staff had given me a bag of magazines to read & pass along. I'd put them on the seat in the car with my handbag, etc. Started driving out the carpark & the seatbelt alarm kept sounding. Couldn't understand it, my seatbelt was in properly. Then I realised, it was the weight of the magazines, the car thought there was another person in the car! 😂
Booked train tickets for October. Was in a queue on the phone for 50 mins first, as trying to sort a Railcard for my mum, but her citizen card isn't accepted ID, so couldn't get one 😔 Washed the dishes after tea, but not fit for much else. Jaw ached so sat with a hot water bottle & watched some TV. Early night
Grateful for a hot sunny day, colleagues happy to see me, lots of magazines to readUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Gratitudes from past few days - lazy Saturday spent mostly reading a book, lovely dinner last night, some flebay sales, good time spent volunteering at CS over weekend, lovely visit to Blenheim Palace last Friday
Lightening my life - took a bag of things to CS, gave a smaller bag of things to shoebox appeal, sold some things via fb00k and flebay.
Getting out - walked lots at Blenheim, nice canal walk on Sunday (Sat was very rainy for most of the day) also have done some bits in the garden here and thereI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £206 -
I would agree Deni work is so stressful atm is it wrong to now look forward to redundancy and a new chapter of my life?Thrifty I need your tips for Charity shops, I never find anything I need there. However bought a birthday card in one today, got the till and it was half price. Still paid more of it as it was a lovely one.Due to today in work being a really bad rubbish stressful day I have now pigged out on a huge chocolate bar well over 500 calories !Had a lovely day off yesterday visited a Nat Trust property in Anglesey with no kids in tow. I explored all the woods in both directions and a red squirrel ran on the path at a distance in front of me. When I go with kids I don't get further than the playgrounds. Enjoyed some me time for a change.NSD's are at a guess 9/15. Total failure again. My fitbit strap broke over the weekend so lost NSD for £3.70 still cheaper than new fitbit, probably need one as mine is about 5 years old and face is badly cracked. Will hold out until bday (oct) unless I see someone selling one on tinernet.Gusto arrives again today, think this will be my last one, but enjoyed different meals and no shopping last few weeks.I have blackberries left in my freezer from last year, will see if they can be used up.GratitudesLovely evening in local park, watching gs try athletics out, funny not sure it's his thing.Feeling better, managed a long walk yesterday.Looking forward to hair appointment tomorrow and gossip from my hairdresser. Evening turtles
Day 2 of the new job, it feels weird to have gone from a team of 50 odd to one of 10, but they seem to make more effort to do stuff as a team which is nice.
I too was a naughty turtle, I bought an air fryer the other day. I'd wanted one for ages and it was on sale so I nabbed it. Used it just now and it cooked my dinner quicker than the oven, our oven is so old it needs about 25-30 minutes just to warm up before you can use it, tonight my food was done in 15 minutes! Unfortunately my old employer messed up my last pay so now I'm wishing I didn't buy it as I'm short for September (typical!). They deducted the remainder of my gym membership as I took a tax free loan a few months back, but didn't pay me any of my overtime so I'm about £250 down... I'm hoping they sort it this month as I won't be happy to wait until next month!
Not much else to report, I've actually had a stinking cold the last few days, it's not covid as I'm testing every day but my sinuses are blocked which is never fun. Hopefully it'll go soon!5 -
Tonight is the last night of the holidays for us over here in LeShire. DS4 starts back tomorrow, his first day at big school. I have shaved the sides of his head, he has had a bath, and he has his uniform laid out ready for tomorrow. He has tested negative, as have his 2 other brothers, but as they have not left the house for weeks except for an eyetest , how could they do otherwise? So it is a slight return to 'normality', no doubt by the time they get round to offering the vax to 12-15 year olds DS4 will be able to have it (Dec), DS2 (17) got sent a letter today to tell him he can have the jab, but nowhere near us is doing it (closest is a half hour drive away).Glad we went away the first week of the hols, but tbh the rest of the time feels utterly utterly wasted, but seeing the rates in Norn Iron rising weekly, I could not have taken the kids over there with a clear conscience.DH is still a complete basketcase and won't go outside if he can help it.DS1 will be moving down to London Town next month.I am sure by the end of this month, it will all seem like the routine has resumed and the wheel keeps turning.Next month will be autumn! #Ooops, forgot to say, NSD 114/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

@apple_muncher - a steam train sounds pretty exciting. Did you go far on it?
I’m staying on NSD 10. I did a small top up shop today. I also popped into the charity shop to start looking for Christmas presents for DS. Bought 2 games, 4 brand new story books, and a good pair of kids winter gloves. Total: £9! I’ll keep peeking into the cs over the coming months to see what I can find. Determined to keep gift costs down for DS and do my bit for the planet.Grateful today for finding some great buys in the cs, for a warm sunny walk, and for wfh.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸5
