Lovely to wake up and know i'm on hols! Had to be up and out though as went over to DD1's house as my Dad and Stepmum were visiting. Was under pain of death from DD1 not to be late and preferably to be early - shock, horror, i managed to arrive 15 minutes before parents (helped by some troublesome roadworks on the route from parents' hotel to DD1s house ). My parents are notoriously early; once arriving 3 hours before their stated arrival time. I prefer to be last minute and believe as long as i leave before my intended arrival time i've got a chance of being on time......
We had a nice visit, stepmum talked nonstop (mostly about her fave grandchildren - ie not my DDs) but heyho, I'm used to it nowThen we walked to a nearby cafe for lunch - parents treated us. DD1's boyfr then acted as escort to get them back to the M6. Came home via Mr T and got dumbells for DD2 and a fitted sheet for £5 with their clubcard offer plus big pack of loo rolls. Seem to be doing lots of small spends everyday at the mo but food spends are still on budget
Gratitudes - good day off work; parents treating us to lunch; seeing DD1 and her boyfr together and looking really happy

Hugs to those in need of them. Congrats to those who passed exams etc.
NSD no. 14 today.
Have been really busy doing shifts at work. Still waiting for further news on how long it is going to last.
Grateful this week for:
Being able to put my nephew up for a couple of nights as he had to go to London a couple of days for his line of work. He is making another visit tomorrow night.
For a chilled out day after working 7 days in a row.
Nice weather.

Thankful for finally getting a v1rg1n engineer to come out and look at Internet issues (pay for 500mbp, speed test shows 1.2mbp...), for a fab window cleaner, for my cleaner doing the insides of some of the windows whilst here today, for a good eye test (although expensive glasses @£270 for one pair! - my first varifocals...)

A really good night, only woke for painkillers & to refresh my hot water bottle once ☺️
Managed to walk 3 miles with hubby this morning, collected my prescription en route. Had a half hour nap, then after lunch I used material from my stash to make 3 lined stockings for use in December, for an upcoming craft fayre. Finished my book, washed up, then had a nice soak in the bath. Had to spend 45p as hubby needed an extra tin of toms for making spaghetti Bolognese, so no NSD today.
Grateful for a brilliant book, using up some of my craft stash, a good night's sleepUse it up, wear it out

Morning turtles
Today is the last day at my current job, or the first day of the rest of my life, depending on how you want to look at it! Spoken to loads of people this week and at least three also have new jobs but haven't made it public yet, the ship really is sinking. I woke up at 4.30 this morning thinking about the whole thing and struggled to get back to sleep. Have had a coffee and will go swimming in a bit before getting ready.
Yesterday wasn't a NSD. I treated myself to a manicure for my new job - not MSE at all but I literally haven't got my nails done professionally for about 15 years! Just fancied a treat. Also used a voucher work got me to buy a nice winter coat, as I'll be walking to work a lot more so I thought that made sense. And had a shopping delivery, no substitutions at all for the first time in ages but I did forget to order loads of basics!
Today won't be a NSD, I have a massage booked this evening, again not very MSE but I do this around once a month to help keep my back mobile. I sound like a right diva with my manicures and massages!
Hugs to those dealing with Covid, my OH currently has some symptoms but all the tests he's done are negative so am hoping those tests are right and he perhaps just has a "normal" cold.
Grateful for good weather, a bit of pampering, and my last day at work.8 -

Sending turtle hugs to ditty and her DSs and to DrCarrie, plus anyone else who needs one.
Thrifty - glad pain is easing and you are sleeping better.
Didn't sleep very well; so much to do & brain too busy. Not caught up on 2 x PT jobs so hoping to do that this afternoon. Taking car to garage this morning for check up (FoC unless they find something that needs sorting...) , got some long journeys over next 6 weeks so glad to get car checked. Meeting a friend (she's picking me up from garage) and having a walk and coffee. Got my book group this eve but not read much of the book, oops! Be nice to see friends though
Wishing everyone a happy Friday
