NST August 2021: Lights, Camera, Action!

Today I am a little worried I was photographed by an evil traffic warden - I pulled in to the side of the road onto some double yellows to let the most enormous lorry carrying gas bottles pass me - there is not enough room on the road to pass each other so someone has to wait. Oh well, Doris Day moment!Got up early and did the Herr L and Herr A Shopping Emporia purchases before doing the volunteer thing, came home, had a 3 minute financial meeting with DH about the mortgage, then I overpaid the mortgage, had a cup of tea, took DS4 out to his summer school, trawled the c/shops while he was tie-dying a shirt in the name of Art & Design, came home, made them a cheese and potato pie for their supper to have while I was out doing the volunteery thing again, (and it was rather spectacular if I do say so myself) DH is gaming tonight so I am foot-loose and fancy free.I have given myself a major task to keep in budget, as I am on £60 for the week instead of the usual £100.Need to buy PE kits (school logo) for back to school in 3 weeks - going to put them on the cc tonight so it is done.So I need to start racking up those NSDs - might take myself and the naked mattress springs off for a good cheap happy half hour at the tip, sorry, recycling centre. Cheap entertainment and I will get my hall clear again.Feeling anxious about A level and GCSE results next week, and they are not even my results!Gratitudes - bought laundry powder for the rest of the year, something not to have to think about.-That whichever ratbag scraped up my car did not do any real damage - just a bit of paint, but it merges in with all the other scuffs I have received - they really cannot drive in Le Shire.A £2.99 white painted wicker laundry basket avec lid was my only c/s purchase today! I am getting quite good at walking away from shops empty handed.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Knitting warning! I need to start knitting. Last time I did it, I did a pair of gloves w fingers and decided I was good at knitting and didn't to have to do any further. This was before the expansion f the internet to the provinces, and when some of us had no tv!
Socks for ds1, still no movement in 6 foot 3 right side - top to bottom. But he has sensation, so that is good. And we all need home knitted socks. My grandmother did it. My mother did it until her hands are now less agile, time to tea on the task of being the sock knitter. Wool is now needed, nice tight spun sock wool? How do I get hold of that?
Gratitudes - conversations w ds2 this morning before wor and ds1 this afternoon. A less dark day.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%
Weight loose 8.6 kg - while having fun. 0/8.6 0%

Lights!
-get yourself outside as much as possible this month - Am doing a 10,000 steps challenge
-light up other peoples’ lives – Must be more supportive of my best friend,
-light up your own life too – Do more of what makes you happy. - Must clean my room, must create a sanctuary eh Mothernerd
-make your own life lighter: what (who?!?!) can you dispose of to reduce the strains and stresses? - have a spare room full of charity shop donations.
Camera!
-‘the camera never lies’ is itself a lie! What with photoshop and filters (and all sorts of technological wizardry that is beyond my ken), nothing online can be trusted to be what it purports to be. So don’t believe it. Don’t be comparing yourself to what others put out there. Be true to yourself.
-take time to look at things and see them anew. Find the beauty.
-make memories
-last month mothernerd talked about looking at the next 6 months, where we want to be and setting goals. It is now 5 months to the end of the year, so have a look at your goals and take some baby steps towards achieving them.
I have started a new diary, I have my own goals for my savings, goals for the house, my job and health. My life is changing.
Action!
-get moving! Be it yoga, belly down burpees (my fave as you get a chance for a little rest at the bottom!), walking, stretching.
-take action on your debts/savings. Check over your financial plan – does it need any tweaking? Can you bump it up a gear?
-inaction is also a goal – take time to simply sit and be. Use all your senses.
-eat well to fuel the body you want
This month is all about decluttering, clearing and organising, need to be in the best shape to manage work and Mum from September.
Nevertheless she persisted.8 -

Ditty, I know sashanut has offered you sock wool. I'm not a fan of using more than 2 needles at a time, and did a happy dance when I found a pattern for 'the easiest knitted socks ever diy'. If you gooogle it, you can download the PDF.Basically, cast on 24, rib a bit, stocking stitch a bit more, decrease+increase, stocking stitch, decrease +increase, stocking stitch, rib. Sew up. Repeat.Hugs.And hugs to you too, DrCarrie. Sounds like things are tough for you.Thrifty, hope the op was a success and you don't need so many painkillers. We have some sunshine at the mo, so hoping to get out for another walk. Feeling a bit crap this morning but glad I don't have to go anywhere.
Grateful for a quiet day, for a chat w project manager sister - keep it simple - I shall keep my good old job, and my creativity afloat for the next 2 months and park everything else, in order to support ds1 and ds2.
I have also already started doing more decluttering. Life is short and needs to be simple and beautiful and full of connectivity - not things.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
