A small spend on some top up food items including YS bread rolls for the freezer. Did some of my PT work and sorted another kitchen cupboard; sat in the sun for 20 mins and phoned parents. Managed 10k steps; on way back from my walk saw DD1 and her bestie on their way back from brunch and cocktails in nearby town! Went to the besties house for a cuppa tea. Having a chilled eve
Gratitudes - neighbour mowing the lawn inbetween showers; nice chat and cuppa with DD1 and her bestie; 3 days left in work before annual leave!

NSD 6.DS’s granny came to visit this morning, had lunch, and got roped into playing snap, pop up pirate, who’s who, and a jigsaw puzzle.I also did some more clearing, cleaning, laundry, and some life admin today.@f0xh0les I get my lenses changed on my frames too. I was told by an optician friend that you can usually do it once, twice at a push. Apparently after changing lenses, the frame becomes a little weaker.Grateful today for seeing MIL, for playing fun games with her, DS, and OH, and for tasty homemade pizza for dinner.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸6

NSDs have been very scarce the last week or so, seems like almost every day I'm running into an unexpected expense. Today is a no-go as well but hopeful for Tue - Thurs this week. Going to sit down and review my August goals later today, feels like the month is flying by!7

Not been here for the past two days - unwell, out of sorts and sluggish, not a lot done. But I have a plan for the week, a plan for today and have done some little things - mainly involving buckets, stones and soil. Put a wash load on, late on Saturday evening in case it was dry enough to put it out (not yet). Did a food order with mum yesterday - she's starting to take an interest in food again and had plans for what she wants to cook.
Hoping she doesn't try to do to much (I think she's thinking back to what she did maybe 10 years ago and it was heavily supplemented by bought in stuff and ready meals). Looking through the order, there wasn't much for me on it, so I did a second order and have spent my food budget. I need to start cooking again - with mum being offside it has felt like too much of a bother to cook just for me so I've been grazing - lump of cheese, 2 apples, sandwich fillings on oatcakes. Having a back to basics week - what should I be eating, have I clean clothes to wear, what tasks are urgent?
Today has been productive. I was outside at 8 am sawing tree stump and then sitting down and attacking the pulpy bits until I felt well enough to stand again. My food came just before half nine (an hour and a half of sawing), so brought it in when mum was talking to her friend on the phone. Have bought eggs (may be making cakes for BH weekend) and I've also put the marg mum said had 'probably gone off' in my fridge and the new one in hers - it hasn't been touched and I'm sure it will be fine. All put away (I have some drinks which have been left outside on the dolly truck with the tarpaulin off the line covering it up)
Sat down in the front room from 10 am to watch for the Icyland van (mum's order). Mostly packed in her freezer and fridge with duplicates in mine (had already moved the plain ice cream and big bag of frozen berries as mum was complaining about not having any room because of 'my stuff').
Have had a proper rest (body was screaming for painkillers but not time yet), had a shower, washed my hair and just done the antiseptic cream and moisturiser (have an after sun cream which is next in line on the use up pile). I need to decide what to eat, I have a 'good' dress to put on later (wore scruffs for sawing and washed all the other painting clothes). Mum has an optician's appointment at 3.30 pm and has started a list of things for me to do (she needs more glue for attaching old ornaments to bits of slate and rock, needs cash but will probably come up with a couple of 'can you just nip to' (I can't) and I may stay at my house for a few hours after seeing her into the taxi (cba - have done my heavy lifting for today).
A couple of the minor ailments are improving/ back under control, very relieved to have thought of a reason why my ankle is hurting so much - one of the curb edging stones fell over, didn't land on me but clipped the side of my ankle on it's way (had wellies and 2 support bandages underneath). Money has been spent and will be again today, so sticking on 7 NSDs. Will do gentle tidying in my room, starting with the top shelf on the bookshelf (double row of books). All the recently read ones have gone back to the shelves but just perched in any available spaces - need to be sorted back into proper order (did the ones on the windowsill).
Grateful for a lovely cobbled together meal yesterday - wild rice rescued from two meals I made for mum that she wanted throwing away, leeks from the slightly slimy on the outside ones I chopped and peeled, small bits from a bag of frozen cauli and lovely rogan joush sauce all over the top,
spending time outside, just sitting (and watching the bees and butterflies
all my painting clothes have been washed so won't feel guilty about not getting on with that (do need to do stuff but again, it's going to be small steps.
Will have a think on my 3 month plan (ends at the end of the month) and any parts of the challenge I haven't fully taken on board. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -

NSD 7.I was up very early this morning - 6am - to get organised for DS going back to nursery. The new routine will take a bit of getting used to.I felt tired and had a headache today, so I wasn’t very productive with work. I found myself also distracted by the horrendous situation in Afghanistan. Families forced to flee for their lives, leave everything and everyone. It’s extremely saddening and so incomprehensible.Grateful to have been born in the UK, for a safe place to live and bring up my child, for equal rights for women.NST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11

Today I am grateful for getting out and about, for my garden, for good friends, for strong coffee, for finding some Strongman stuff on utube.

Tonight I am grateful for the kindness of strangers, staying in a house of friends of friends. There is a ticking clock and lots of traces of family life. I am having a naughty Guinness and a double meal deal - so no nsd for me. But I am still saving 200 miles and 4 hours of my life!
Just realised I have a french press for my travel mug - so I could have had real coffee in the morning. But I brought my Nescafe as well. Both the boy and I was in a better mood today. Happy days.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
