I'm staying put.
read your post, been with TT years, wasn’t happy with the hike.
I was on £25.45 when I started new 18 month contract beginning of the year, for 38mbs
then £2 rise for calls package, then the latest rise, taking it to £29.45.
was just gonna leave it but after reading your post, just rang them, told them about yours, got 18 month @£21and £5 reduction for first 3 months, so £16 pm .
I always haggle when renewing contract, but saw ad for newbies @£25pm for 65and free calls, so went for it .
see what I get when e- mail arrives, should be ok !👍0 -

He put me on hold and came back with the above..... i was shocked they could beat it, or rather were willing to.
I think they must have been aware of the offer from Vodafone.
£100 bill credit was applied by a supervisor, needed their approval.
My account wasn't in credit, i just pay the monthly direct debit each month0 -

I obviously ain’t as good a haggler as you.
no wonder he was evasive.
he said he could beat yours, and not to tell you 😇
clever so and so.
not going to haggle anymore.
glad I got in touch’ I wasn’t going to bother at all, thought the cut off date was passed.
cheers.

My haggling skills must be rubbish because the best I got was a quid off my monthly bill, but it isn't fixed, so it will still increase next april. Much better value to go with another provider with their offers.Been told I have to do an "unsoliticed cease" and tell my new provider to take over the line.I assume I can just sign up for offers for another provider and just sign up as normal? What a pain, thanks for nothing talktalk.0

We got a £2.50 reduction rather than £2.50 increase by doing a live chat. I am not that bothered about the money more about the principal. I think when the contract next expires I will leave TT. Don't think they treat loyal customers very well.1

Leaving aside the fact that haggling will almost get you what you want (if you're persistent enough), can someone help me understand why this isn't an open and shut case of breach of contract that, if pushed to court, would mean that TalkTalk would be forced to provide the service that they had promised?
IANAL, but compensatory damages and specific performance are both statutory remedies for contract breaches, and I'd be interested/very surprised if that could be overridden by OFCOMs own rules?0 -
Its part of the contract is why if you read the contract .

But I thought the issue here was that TalkTalk had run a promotion where they promised absolutely no increases at all, and the contract supported that - or am I wrong here?1 -
(But I thought the issue here was that TalkTalk had run a promotion where they promised absolutely no increases at all, and the contract supported that )They dis something like that once on a promotion . Dont know when it was nor when it stopped .Looks like you would be correct on that one .So promotion no price increase . Contracted with we may increase prices in contract ( comes under Ofcom get out rules )Current price increase built in to every contract no get out .
