NST June 2021: Jolly simple

Today is going rather well, even if I say so myself. I have rugby tackled a frog that has been annoying me for ages. Tidying a bit of space that is just turning into the 'end line' of tidying - you know, you get to that point, and then think s0d it, that is far enough, I will make a cup of tea - well, tidied it all up, I no longer have a full size camp bed in my pantry, it is on a shelf by the back door, and it can be used as a sun lounger now it is in a convenient location. Just need to stop people parking their bicycles in the pantry now that there is space (no, I don't know either, but apparently it is 'out of the way' if it is next to my pasta mountain).Packed most of what DS4 needs for school journey on Friday - still need to find a lightweight waterproof jacket, I know I have at least one somewhere, but can't put my hand on it - sooo annoying! Will ask DS3 when he gets home from school - unlikely, but possible. The kitchen has been completely sanitized. I shocked myself! I keep looking at the worktop thinking 'Oh!, it's clear!'But not as shocked as discovering I have welly boots in sizes 12, 13, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, not to mention the football boots, snow boots, and school shoes I put away after growth spurts from DS's 1 and 2. Which was nice, but now I am hoping I will be able to c/s some of them. They are no use if they are not going to be in use.'Found' a tenner in my purse this morning from a spend day over a week ago, which I took out for after school ice creams but the kids were rotten so I didn't bother. As I took it out for that purpose, I am going to use it today instead. So going to keep my NSD and eat ice cream in the sun. Feel like I have achieved loads, but not really done anything outside a 4 meter square section of the house. There were just frogs everywhere.Right, off to get some strawberry splits and trawl the streets for some kids.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well, that's all the kitchen cupboards cleaned and organised. I can't believe how much room there is now all the clutter has gone. Not a NSD as I've ordered new and matching accessories (towel holder, containers, bin, etc). It will look so much better. Honestly, the state of the house was getting me down. I'll go to the naughty step now.
The missing curtain rod arrived yesterday. I put it up all by myself which is amazing as I haven't a practical bone in my body. The bathroom is looking really good now.
We have two big jobs that need done. The hall needs decorating and a new carpet and the spare room needs a new bed and bookshelves (that's after I get the Boy to take some of his clutter away or dispose of it to the tip). It'll be a while before I get around to that but I'll start saving for it now.
I'm feeling that I've got a plan and it feels good.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
Evening turtles
Haven't checked in for a while but up to 13 NSD's. Have sold a bag on ebay for my mum. I have a few other bits listed but if they don't sell they'll go to the charity shop.
Work has been crazy busy so far this week. I have Friday off as time off in lieu and am really looking forward to it!
Have been paid from zero hours job (more than I thought) and payday tomorrow for my main job. Will work budgets out ready for July.7 -
Today I am grateful for a dry and warm day, for having the chance to say goodbye to a work colleague in person, for my Californian poppies, for books, for raspberries.

Evening all
Feeling a bit down in the dumps today; DD1 is getting better but still can't taste. Work has been frustrating as i need info and help and it is not forthcoming or is incomplete... My budget is very very tight this month as i have a new carpet coming next week for DD2's room and my holiday in the NE in September to pay for. Have asked my friend 3 times to tell me how she wants me to pay her but she still hasn't sent me any info. Many grrrrrrs
On a more positive note - i went to the zero waste food hub so had a free lunch and now having free hummus and free salad leaves for tea; all other food today has been from supplies. I did a really good exercise class on Fb and finished work a bit early and went for a walk by the canal.
Finally a NSD - that must be 4 now this month!!

Well this is another done, were able to do a bit of proofreading on the patio for my freelance proposal, now it's up to the recipients if they like it. I put Grammarly on my google chrome, I already hate it and it seems to only speak American English Phuh!
Now off on a nice dusk walk.

Hello Turtles,
thank you for the hugs way back, this is a lovely thread.
I am officially back in debt. 1980 to be exact.
I have pre borrowed the money for a house bun related expense, he will need another op quite soon I think. The op could be quite a high figure.
I can't type any more as mum is making a fuss. Work is exhausting. I am skint. Another 3 days till pay day.

Make a playlist from 1980 and play it to the rabbit. If Fuzzyface is going to cost that much, he can at least dance with you.Roll on payday - ours is not for another week. Just breathe, you sound frazzled. This too will pass.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD#10
Felt quite stressed this morning. Orkney hasn't had many covid cases compared to other areas, we are now in level 0, but news popped up this morning that 40 folk have had to go into isolation after visiting the pubs. Two colleagues were at work today, who had been out & about. I was very stressed that they might test positive, & I'm having to be so careful as hubby is on immune suppressant tablets until the weekend. They isolated in an office & took tests, which were negative, but I felt very shaky for a long time after it. The end of term meal out has now been cancelled too, which I'd been really looking forward to.
Went for a walk after school, then shortened some trousers for a customer tonight.
Grateful for the rain stopping for our walk, salt & vinegar shapes from £land (I LOVE them!!), negative tests at schoolUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
