Good and Bad Buys at Lidl and Aldi stores (***Please don't expire***)

Agreed @DigForVictory but I still think Aldi are great for flowers. I often treat myself. 😁
They used to have a good range of plants in season too but last year they were conspicuously absent. No sign this year either. 🤔 That's a shame as I often bought bedding plants as well as bay, olive and holly over time.
I still buy YS basil and split it at home.

I am a low spender, would manage to get two cakes a month, but didn't hit the £50 often.
What I think is underhanded is the month never rolled over, I was thinking of spending a couple of tenners to get May cakes, but can't do that.Let's Be Careful Out There0 -
I don't see why they wouldn't harmonise with Europe. If that is the "even bigger reason to shop with us" then the Lidl reward scheme will be about as appealing as Sainsbury's Nectar, ie not very! I was looking forward to a £5 off £35 spend this month but its looking unlikely.
@DigForVictory - I gave up on lillies a long time ago, the stamens are an indelible problem.

Lidl's used to offer a £5 off shop voucher; No spend needed which moved to: £5 of a £15 spend, then £5 off a £20 spend, then £5 off a £25 spend, then £5 off a £35 spend, and last month it was £5 off a £40 spend, and no doubt it'll be a £5 off a £45 spend for May. No good for those of us who don't do a weekly shop/stock up with them and just buy the odd bits which still add up through the month.
The FREE coupons at shopping levels through the month have now gone from:
Free bakery Treat to FREE Fruit; maybe not such a bad move and
Free bag of Veggies to Free bag of Nuts; useless to those with nut allergies.
Overall, I'm now hardly spending anything at Lidl, if anything each month. The £1.50 veggie boxes have got smaller and are no longer weekly more fortnightly here. Plus, the mixture of items per box isn't as good as it used to be, certainly not here anyway. 😥😣.
Personally, I've been disappointed with the Lidl changes this year and now do a fortnightly stock up for necessities at Morrisons which means I can have a cheap home delivery slot for £1 with a £25 minimum spend; which works perfectly in budget here, and I get far better coupon / discount rewards, than those offered by Lidl. Plus, I don't have to leave home and stand in queues at Lidl because only one checkout is open due to staff cut backs and timings of employee breaks.

The veg boxes have gone up to £2 and the range of produce has reduced. I used to buy them fairly regularly but they aren't as useful anymore

I think it means it has extended the time you have to spend the money has been extended to 4th May ( from the last day in April) not that you only have until the 4th May to pick up the freebie.
But I may be wrong!!! I won't reach the next level up (10% off) by 4th May anyway, so won't find out!!!

Not sure where you are, but Morrisons minimum order for me in the Hartlepool area is £40 and the cheapest afternoon 4 hour slots are £1.50 or £2, been a long time since it's been £25 minimum…

harz99 - Here in the Cambs area it's £25 minimum and it's a 4 hour slot starting at £1 @ Morrisons.
Different area, different minimums / prices. The same goes for all Supermarkets, including and especially differing prices of their goods in different locations - That's why it always pays to shop around at different SMs for online shopping. Other SMs here charge a minimum of £3.50 - £4.50 on a 4 hours Super Saver delivery slot 😮 and their goods seem to be more expensive, but not necessarily better quality / better value for money.

I sure as blazes won't be spending another £46.39 tomorrow to get a measly bar of chocolate!:

My area of the country hasn't seen £25 minimum at any supermarket for years, and yes I'm fully aware of the vagaries of regional pricing…
