NTL/Telewest at it again! Make the call and save some cash...

Woo Hoo! Just made the call (am within 30 days of my contract start date).

I was on 4meg bb, select pack and phone for £37/month. Got the family pack, phone and downgraded to 2meg for £29.99 a month! Think thats a great offer! Thanks for the encouragements!

Also, she said if Im unhappy with 2meg I can ring in 2 weeks and see what deal they can do for me and 4 meg!

hi,anyone heard of any deals/offers from telewest now ntl/virgin/telewest are now one,i have been with tw for years having phone,tv, and broadband, and because of other offers, tt, tiscali,etc, am now thinking of re-instating a bt line to get these,any help, info i am sure will help me and many others, thanks allgram.

As you can see allgram, there are a few threads about reducing your package with NTL/Telewest. Have a read of this thread to see how and more suggestions in this thread

I called NTL up in April as was fed up with the charges etc. They offered me 2mb broadband and base TV and Telephone for £21.50 per month for 6 months.

I am also annoyed at how they do the billing. I got told that it would be free BB for 3 months (usually £24.99) and they would raise another credit for the rest of the amount. Well the way they do this is so confusing. The bills don't show the BB as being half price, and they seem to credit it one month and then not the other. I think I am actually paying them about £25 per month (it was bloody difficult to work out!).

I just wish they could say "this is the amount...you will pay this for a year", not the stupid system they have now where you have to keep calling up because they haven't credited what they say they will.

I got my first bill last week and yes - it takes a degree to work it out. Even then you cant! Had an accountant friend check it out and after about 30 mins she thought she had worked it out! Impossible to tell if you're being overcharged/undercharged/credited! Madness! Worst bills in the world...

i pay 27.99 for unlimited calls plus 17.99 for broad band any thing i casn do to reduce this horendous bill

Welcome to the MSE forums unhappynow, if you take a bit of time to read through some of the posts on this thread you will find many users who "made the call and saved some cast".

Be armed with figures before you make the call like how much it would cost if you left and went elsewhere and be firm. You need to call and say you are going to leave, not that you might leave but that you are leaving and you will be put through to Retentions who should then offer you a better deal to stay.

Worked for me, told them i was leaving.

Got 2 meg-£9.99
T/Phone -£7.50 inc talk unlimited local
T/v fam -£11.00 + free sky sports

So instead of paying £55.17 its £28.49, happy with that. Will give them another call in 6 months.
