    Thank you @BalanceBy50

I missed a day posting yesterday. I went and rejoined slimming world. I joined 4 weeks ago supposedly to help my friend who has put on a lot of weight (I'm the designated driver) but after 2 weeks sulking about the results of my knee xray and overeating I've figured out that I probably need to go as much as she does. I liberated some money from my savings account and paid for a countdown to make sure that I go for the next 6 weeks at least.

On the plus side yesterday was also the day when I had my knee injected. If it works I can have it done every 6 months and won't need knee replacement surgey just yet. Keep your fingers crossed. It's already less painful today. I asked the doctor if I could start running again and he looked a bit shocked until I told him that most people walk faster than I run. My best friend insisted on collecting me afterwards so I didn't have to drive then we went to look at a few more houses (he's looking to buy). None were really suitable but I think the one we're seeing on Friday may be OK as long as nobody else gets there first.

Today should be my shopping day but it will have to wait until tomorrow as the car is going for an MOT. Another fingers crossed job - it's getting on a bit now so I hope there's nothing big needs doing. I do have a list for my shopping roughly costed to £26.50 so far. I'm sure I'll think of something to make it up to £30 by tomorrow.

Good morning and ugh, what a week - well the second half of it at any rate.

I had the injection in my my knee on Wednesday morning, was collected from the doctors by my best friend and felt fine. All good.....until 8pm on Wednesday when the stinking headache arrived. Thursday morning I still had the headache and then the bright red face arrived. I checked my temperature  - mostly because I still have my son's baby thermometer and I can. Temp was fine so it had to be the injection. The headache didn't respond to any painkillers but vanished as suddenly as it arrived around 3pm when I went to collect my son from school. It's replacement was exhaustion which is where it starts to impact on the debt diary.

I'm the only person that cooks in this household so when I can't the problems start straight away. My son isn't lazy by the way, he has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and his fingers are so bendy that it's not safe for him to use a sharp knife. There's usually a few M&S ready meals in the freezer as they're the only ones that I can stand but being on a mssion to use things up I didn't replace the ones that my son ate while I was in hospital in February. Dinner on Thursday was beans, sausages and mini waffles, I threw some chicken and oven chips in the oven on Friday evening and that was dinner with a bit of salad for me as a nod to healthy eating. Yesterday was my long work day and by the time  finished at 6pm  was past cooking. We had fish and chips between us from the local takeaway and I went to bed at 7:30. I'm feeling a bit better today though and the fish and chip money came from cash that my boss gives me to reimburse me for meals that I make for my looked after person.

I did go shoppng and I spent £39.34 which when added to the £20 spent earlier gives me a weekly total of £59.34. Better than usual and under my £10 a day target. The car passed it's MOT first time with no advisaries, was also serviced and the money for that was paid from the car savings account which I add to every month. I have 2 weeks left to pay day, £204.98 left in my general account and a smallish shopping list ready for this week. I'm also taking my son and his partner out for lunch this week for my birthday as long as covid doesn't change our arrangements so hopefully I can pay for some of our day out from the grocery savings.

Do you batch cook and keep your own home cooked "ready meals" in the freezer?  They're great for days when you can't cook for some reason or cba days!  Even if I don't batch cook meals I often make double and freeze half for another day.  I find it really helps with menu planning.

I used to until the freezer became so full of ingredients that there was no room to put any meals that I made back in there. That's why we're on a mission to use the freezer contents just now. I've been at SW on and off for a very long time 😁

I'm in a pretty similar position, although I do have quite a lot of HM ready meals!  Definitely trying to use up the chest freezer contents as want to replace it with one or possibly 2 upright ones as they will be so much easier to organise!

I remembered in time that I can't go shopping tomorrow as I'm doing a favour for a friend then I'll be going to work. Just been to buy the things on the list for the first half of the week so £22.57 spent. It's quite difficult to judge when some of the items will be needed so hopfully I'll get better at this. If we hadn't needed bread I could probably have postponed until Tuesday but as we did I thought that I may as well go and get it over with.
