I laughed at your dramatic tomatoes and then mis-read the next sentence and was wondering what you had reported a house plant for??? Then re-read that you'd repotted the plant. 😂.I agree that cats eating tinsel never ends well.3

I had about three hours sleep on Sunday night so I was absolutely shattered yesterday. I had things to do though so I was up at my normal time (was awake from 4am anyway). I went to Asda and couldn't be bothered thinking what stage in the week we needed what things so just did the whole weekly shop £55.68. Happy with that. Came home and made packed lunch for best friend who collected it, stopped for a small chat and left me to crack on with things.
I rescued the rhubarb which has been quietly over growing in the garden. I haven't had the time to do anything with it the past few weeks and there was no room in the freezer so I just left it to it's own devices. I made rhubarb and ginger jam which took up most of the day inbetween other jobs like emptying the indoor bins, a bit of weeding etc.
Best friend reappeared handed his lunch box back, tightened all the jam jar lids for me to make sure they were ok and stayed for coffee and a chat. He left with a jar of jam and I went to work. I took some rhubarb and a jar of jam to my bosses when I dropped looked after person off at the end of my shift and I have a jar of jam and some rhubarb on the kitchen counter for my next door neighbours. I haven't written today's "to do" list yet but I suspect it will be housework based. The dramatic tomatoes went back out yesterday and I've left them outside (mostly because I was so tired that I forgot about them). It's done now so I'll just avoid looking at them for a couple of days and leave them to it.0 -
NSD yesterday, yay. I cleared my "to do" list which had housework, laundry, ironing etc on it and found time for coffee and a crossword with my best friend for an hour before I started work. The dramatic tomatoes are still in the garden taking their chances. I did water them yesterday but I didn't look at them too closely. The cucumber and courgettes are still indoors.
Today I've been to fat class then back to my friend's for coffee and a chat. The HT wanted some bits from asda so I went but he has paid. He also paid for the bread that we needed and the pizzas for him and his partner for this evening. He said that it was cheaper to do it that way than to order a takeaway or go to maccies so he's learnt that lesson fairly quickly.
I'm working that afternoon/evening but tomorrows plan is to turn some of the contents of the fridge into home made ready meals for the freezer.2 -
NSD today hopefully. Today is going to be a cooking and baking kind of day then I will have to figure out how to fit it all in the freezer. I'm thinking that if I move some other things around I can have a whole drawer just for batch cooked meals. That would be really handy for the days that I need to be quick or just plain can't be bothered to make anything complicated.3

Ooh batch cooking! I love the sound of that, but I just can’t get up the enthusiasm to actually do the making and freezing! Do tell us what you make so we can be impressed and jealous all at the same time! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

My freezer contents never seem to go down no matter how many things I think I’ve used up. Last year I bought The Batch Lady cookbook but still haven’t made anything from it. Because I’m the only one who doesn’t eat meat in our house I usually make two portions of my meals, one to eat and one for the freezer.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I made slimming world friendly lasagne but the teens saw that so we had it for dinner tonight - still 3 portions for the freezer though. I made mother butter chicken from the Mowgli cookbook but subbed the oil and yogurt for frylight and fat free yogurt. I left the butter out altogether as this makes it SW friendly and as far as I can tell doesn't make that much difference to the dish - 5 portions in the freezer. I also made bolognese bake. 4 portions with cheese already on and 4 without in case friend shows up for dinner any time (he has a dairy allergy).2 -
I've just cashed out my Prolific balance and added a small amount to it from my May left over money to pay another £20 off my loan. I've reduced the payments by one month and saved interest which will be around £8. I wanted to overpay a bit more as the annual loan statement is due in June and I'm interested to see how much impact I've made on the loan term.2

Your £10-20 overpayments really inspired me to do it on my loan. It's incredible how much interest you are saving proportional to the payment. Can I ask what the APR is on your loan?
01.12.2020 - CC £16,839 / Loan £18,820 / EF £0
