He was supposed to pay for some of it himself but when we tried to transfer money from his savings account it wouldn't let him do it online. It's been a long time since he's had anything new so I don't mind really and I did have the money saved so it could have been worse.0

Good morning all,
Food shopping was done yesterday, total spent was £35.45. Lunch and dinner yesterday was for an extra person because the HT's partner has been staying. Lunch today will be for four people as partner is still here and my best friend will also be here. Dinner tonight will just be for me and the HT though so I'm thinking of something easy like cheesy beans and toast with either sausages (there seem to be a lot of sausages in the freezer for some reason) or bacon. I'm working tonight - I don't usually work Thursdays and Fridays but I'm doing a favour for my boss this week. It'll be worth it on payday.
I've paid for all the things that money was spent on while we were out on Wednesday and I still have £39.42 left. I'm thinking of rounding that up and allocating £20 to debt payment and holding £20 back in case we want to do somthing on Bank Holiday Monday. My food shopping account still has £69.15 in it for next weeks fruit, veg, cat fud and cat litter. It would be good if there's some of that left over for debt payment too but as usual I have no idea of how many people I will be feeding and when I'll be feeding them other than me and the HT all week and Looked after Person Monday, Tuesday and Saturday evening. We'll see....1 -
A planned spend again yesterday. £10.99 for passport photos and £75.50 for renewing my passport. No spending on holidays planned but my sister does not live in the same country as me and as well as a passport being handy if ID is ever needed, I like to at least have the correct paperwork to travel to my sister if I ever need to. I had the money saved but parting with it was not easy 🤣
There are only three people here for kunch today - myself, the HT and my looked after person. I'm hoping to get out for a walk with LAP but not holding my breath as it's started to rain again already. NSD today - I think I've spent enough this week even if it was saved up for. I like having the money ready to pay for things instead of that feeling of panic but it takes sooooo long to save then it's gone in a flash ⚡3 -
I agree, saving is so hard and spending is so easy! Oddly it does seem harder to spend real money than it does to spend credit...it makes no sense! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

NSD again today thank goodness. I repotted some tomato plants and put some previously repotted ones out in the garden for a couple of hours to harden off. They're back indoors downstairs now, pretending to be dead. Tomatoes are so dramatic. I also repotted one of my house plants, cut the grass out the back while it was moderately dry (it didn't rain much here yesterday) and finished off putting slate down in the borders around the small patch of grass in the front. I bought a friend who is buying a new house an acer in Asda the other week for £3 so I repotted that too because it looked a bit sad.
Budget for everything except petrol this week is £67.48. I know what I'm getting paid because I looked on the government gateway site but I have no idea when payday is. It could be Friday, it maybe the Tuesday after. My boss uses an external wage site for our wages to keep them separate from her own business and to ensure money for my Looked After Person is properly accounted for so it never seems to appear on the same day two months running. I use that money for savings and for paying extra on my credit cards. It also paid for my birthday lunch this month and the HT's new trainers. Everything else comes out of my pension and widowed parents allowance.
I got on the scales this morning. After two days of alcohol and birthday cake it was not good news......I'm starting C25K from the beginning tomorrow. In all fairness, running doesn't make you skinny, it just makes you hungry but I like the way my body changes shape and it makes me think much harder about what I'm eating. Food becomes fuel and I stop eating junk.2 -
Plants are all dramatic...I can’t find a single houseplant that won’t object to being eaten, barfed up, or thrown from high places in their pots by the cats. Cacti don’t get eaten, but will wear their new fur coats with pride, and still object to being thrown from great heights...it’s not worth the trouble anymore 😖
I've never attempted growing tomatoes or C25K....one sounds a lot more fun than the other! 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

The Korat ignores house plants - her heart and her tummy are fiercely concentrated on anything that comes out of either the fridge, the oven or both. The Borat however was a diiferent kettle of cats fish entirely. All I had left once we'd had her for 6 months was an air plant in a glass fronted cupboard and a cactus. Once she'd gone, a sort of house plant normality has returned. I can even have flowers in vases now and delicate ornaments on the Christmas tree. We used to put the Christmas tree away on Boxing day because the sound of tinself being chewed goes right through me and the poor angel at the top used to be launched into flight on a regular basis.0

🤣🤣 oh, so very familiar....and it’s no fun pulling tinsel angel hair out of bottoms (none of that allowed now!). If I receive flowers they can only come out of the guest bathroom with supervision and countless cries of ‘get down’ and leaping to the rescue every few minutes. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I used to hide seedlings in our second bathroom when we lived in the big house. Inside the shower with the shower door closed for extra protection 😂 My friend's dog once stole a whole Christmas cake complete with frill. Your angel hair tinsel mention reminded me because that's what happened with the cake frill too 🤣1
